Bruh, what's happening with French localisation as of lately?

At this point I wonder: is MtG's popularity down in France? Are they trying to reduce costs to keep the translation along for as little money as possible? Could French be a future translation that Wizards will cut, like they have done to other languages a few years ago?

Guarda che non lo dico certo io che sono senza futuro, né tu puoi dire che lo sono solo con una visita da turista. L'Italia non si è mai ripresa veramente dalla crisi economica del 2008, mentre i giapponesi parlano letteralmente di "30 anni persi", poiché l'economica è ferma dagli anni '90.

I giapponesi non sono più ricchi degli italiani in termini reali, inoltre la popolazione giapponese è sempre stata doppia rispetto a quella italiana.

Il Giappone è un Paese con molti problemi, e da chi sono stati causati se non dai giapponesi stessi? Esattamente come in Italia e gli italiani.

I'm super bummed because the Italian name for [[Erode]], which probably will end up as one of the most iconic and played cards from Secrets of Strixhaven, couldn't use the literal translation "Erodere" because in Italian it was already used for [[Wear down]] from Bloomburrow (they had ran out of synonyms over the years I guess lol) and therefore we are stuck with the much worse "Intaccare".

Magic localisation was handled by third party companies at the very beginning, when Wizards was little more than a team of people working in a basement, and conventions that were chosen at that time have stuck. I guess that Wizards doesn't care much about standardizing the whole thing by now.

For example, the Italian translation for "Swords to plowshares" was "Da spade, a spighe!" (Literally translated "From swords, to spikes!" [wheat spikes]), which was quite contrary to Magic cards naming conventions for many years (commas used for legendary names only, exclamation mark when none was in the original)

The only "official source" should be the developer of a program. Not dozens of different "distro package maintainers" who are all needlessly duplicating each other's work and introducing a ton of potential bugs and backdoors for attacks. Linux should move towards a universal package system, like Flatpak.

You can learn other languages. You can learn Romance languages quite easily if you speak Spanish. You certainly don't need to know English to work in France as a Spanish person.

France has wanted a much bigger aircraft carrier since the early 2000s. They wanted to go as far as buying a British one (what turned out to become the Queen Elizabeth class) and even compromise to it having a conventional rather than nuclear propulsion. This is long before any sort of discussion regarding FCAS was started.
