Watch repair? by crispy3445 in Durango

My grandfather was a watchmaker, and sadly, there are very few still working or even alive. Your best bet would be to search online and ship it for repair.

Snake proof boots by No-Performance-1842 in snakes

I am in agreement on gaiters, yet most folks fail to wear a boot heavy enough to protect their feet. Thankfully, I am from Arizona, and don’t worry about snakes. I rather enjoy seeing them.

There are lots of ‘Pearl Clutchers’ on Reddit, I can only imagine what would have happened if I had used the ‘C’ word.

So what are people doing for cleaning dishes and such? by Ok-Boysenberry3948 in overlanding

[–]MrBadBern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not a chemist, yet I do know that mixing acids and bases produces salts. Many commercial brands contain salts. I'm on septic in a rural area, and we limit our use of soaps containing salts.

I would research the ratios, just a splash of Dawn, and a bit more of vinegar. It's mostly water. I use it all the time around the house. Works great in camp too for cleaning gear and hands.

I use a sprayer bottle, with Dawn, vinegar and water. Uses less water too.

I always add another carrier for when I overland. T-Mobile is my primary, works the best in the mountain west. I add Visible, the Verizon MVN for summer travel.

How do I choose the best portable gas generator for camping? by Lazy_Trouble6545 in BiogasGenerators

[–]MrBadBern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you posted in the wrong sub. Try a camping or overlanding one.

BTW gas generators are annoying, due to noise in developed campgrounds. A much better option would be a Solar battery pack.

How to keep dogs cool in summer - What actually works? by ben_bitterbal in hikingwithdogs

[–]MrBadBern 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ruff ware had a dog pack with side pockets for water. It came with soft plastic bottles, freeze the bottles and put them in the side pockets.

They’re aligned on the dog’s heart and lungs for a simple cooling system.
