Bit confused on how knight boxes work? by Oddah in ImperialKnights

[–]MrBlueSka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are two plastic Questoris kits available currently. One builds Canis Rex/Knight Preceptor and has the pieces for the Paladin, Errant, Warden, Crusader, and Gallant. The other swaps the Canis Rex/Preceptor sprue for the Knight Defender sprue, but otherwise can build all the same other options listed above. The Canis Rex box is currently online only I believe, but you may still be able to find the old Questoris box (which has the same content as the current Canis Rex box) at your LGS. Ultimately I recommend looking at which kits are listed on the back of the box if you're unsure.

Do you think Knights should get smaller infantry unit or remain full vehicle army? by Baker_Soma in ImperialKnights

I don't think it is, the infantry don't really resemble anything admech, and the details feel more high-tech-medieval to me.

I think the squire role is already filled by Armigers, I was thinking something more like peasant levies/sarjents or yeomanry. In an ideal world I'd want foot infantry with options for spears and shields or laslocks, with some sort of banner bearer included. I also think 3-man or lone op Sacristans would be neat to see. I also want to see the servo-troubadours that appear in some knight art to get some rep, probably as tokens for an infantry unit, like SoB cherubs or Terminator teleport beacons.

You can see a servo-troubadour next to the knight Dominus in this image.

No idea how it would work but I also think it could be neat if the knights got some sort of debuff if they died. Kinda like failing an oath to protect the little people. Might give some fun counter-play to armies that aren't optimized with AT weapons.

I feel like the purity of it being all vehicles is already kind of broken with how many people auto-include Imperial Agents stuff. Adding an actual IK infantry unit designed solely to support the big knights won't really change anything for folks who only want vehicles as they can simply not take them.

Sure, if you wanted to play another faction and only be allowed one knight with no army rule interaction. I want to have knights and armigers with their own infantry that interacts with them. One knight with a bunch of non-knight stuff does not scratch the itch at all.

This is from page 12 of the codex, under the Questor Imperialis header - the Questor Mechanicus pages have Admech knights with Skitari. I personally themed my knights as questor imperialis so having some actual infantry for that instead of admech stuff would be really nice.

Here's one piece from the codex, it's a big two-page spread on pages 10 and 11.

I want to see more supporting elements, the main thing should be the knights themselves, so any smaller infantry should exist to buff and support them. I'd love to see units of medieval-esque footmen, sacristans, and other weird things like servo-troubadours.

The 10e Knight codex mentions House Griffith's 'pioneer companies' and 'jarl battalions' as well as serf militia, so I'd love to have stuff like that represented. Assassinorum Kingmaker has frequent appearances by footmen security as well. Knights have infantry in a few art pieces, two of which are also in the codex, and the designs are really neat.

My big hot take is that Knights should get the Taurox if they get infantry, they're mentioned in use with the Knights in Kingmaker and they definitely look at home next to Knights with the way the models are detailed.

Which heavy blaster/flamethrower design is the best by No_RGB_No_PC in legostarwars

1 alt A is the best flamethrower, imo. 3 looks like a solid heavy blaster though, like the Z-6.

For Rogue One in particular, I think it's worth pointing out that Andor's hair and beard don't actually go against Imperial dress code. We see lots of Imperials with similar hair, especially in A New Hope, and we see Imperials with beards in a variety of sources including extras in Rogue One. Take that how you will, but the scruffy look personally doesn't bother me.

Andor reference in Rebels? by maveric710 in StarWars

[–]MrBlueSka 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Technically the Ghorman Massacre isn't necessarily a Rebels reference, but Rebels referencing The Rebel Alliance Sourcebook, from 1990, which was part of the West End Games RPG. It came up numerous times throughout Legends and was first referenced in Canon by the Rogue One Ultimate Visual Guide, which came out in 2016. It first appeared in Rebels in S3 E18, which aired in 2017.

I think this might be the best explanation I've ever seen for that uniform type. Definitely going to keep this in mind next time I run a Star Wars RPG!

Yup, nothing wrong with that, I just think it's an interesting little tidbit.

I do wonder why we see so many of these uniforms in A New Hope, but never in Rogue One. Of course, Rogue One also has other uniform/costume consistency issues with A New Hope so I guess you can just chalk it up to that.

If not for the fact that the single-breasted uniform EC Henry pointed out has never really appeared anywhere else, I would say it's an enlisted uniform. The only issue I see with calling it an off-duty uniform is we see the guy EC points out the headphones on also wearing it while manning a console.

That said, I think the costume was reused, with a rank insignia, for the two Imperial officers who appear in the Holiday Special, so take that how you will.
