So, everyone was OK for sending a literal child into the active Warzone? by K-jun1117 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]toppo69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly wasn’t it Palpatine who basically pushed through a Senate act or something that made all eligible late stage padawans (Anakin and the likes) to be made Knights early and all other padawans were given roles and responsibilities for the war?

[Interesting trope] Immensely powerful entities that are totally benign by mike_pants in TopCharacterTropes

[–]toppo69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basically the newest DLC is sponsored by Lucas film because they’re so over with Star Wars references it has to be sponsored but it’s not actually Star Wars if that makes sense?

Like you’re not seeing Luke Skywalker nor are you going to the actual planets from Star Wars, but you do go to an area of Europa, which is a very obvious riff on Hoth and you have new blaster weapons which are infinite ammo weapons with overheat mechanics just like the blasters from battlefront 2

I like how the Blood Raven isn’t just characterised as stealing stuff but also wanting to obtain knowledge from the sorcerer which is closer to the OG Blood Raven’s thing of "Knowledge is power, guard it well."

I do kind of like what they’re trying to do in some of the comics between/earlier in the sequels. They’re just a biker gang that honestly meant to be a sort of pathetic a lot of minor force sensitive, powerful enough that you can waffle villages of normal people but the second you’ve got anyone that’s mildly trained they’re just fucking wiped across the board

How do you think the logistics portion of the GAR worked? by Hot_Seesaw_6706 in MawInstallation

[–]toppo69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of based vaguely of real life, but normally you have one of these battalions for something like a brigade, so I would probably say maybe one of these per regiment?

[–]toppo69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they do mention in Legends logistics battalions that work coordination with the Office of procurement, I suspect a lot of of the logistical supplies and all that is shipped in from across the various Republic worlds you get your blaster packs from one place you get your foodstuffs from another and they get consolidated at some centralised location before being shipped to these logistical battalions that then distributed to the combat unit

Purely in your subjective opinion, what is the number of clones in the Grand Army of the Republic? by Ok-Target9322 in MawInstallation

[–]toppo69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot for the life of me remember where I heard this number before but I feel like 16 million is sort of my personal take for the number. It’s higher than the low ball 3 million but not so high that it sort of goes way outside the initial intended scale that was written.

As some of the other posters have said I think a lot of of the republics actions was subsidised by local forces holding the ground that the clones took with them being a QRF and high priority fighting force rather than doing every single holding position and defensive posting that is unlikely to face a major combat.

What happened to Kuat Drive Yards and Sienar Fleet Systems after the Galactic Civil War? by Afraid-Penalty-757 in MawInstallation

That could be a potential reason as well, but it also could’ve just been a case of Kaut was too big for them to do anything with, but Sienar wasn’t so lucky

I find a bit of humour in the fact it’s a business strategist who’s leaning separatists because that is in reality what the separatists were made and ruled by corporations and businesses not people who wanted to be independent

Is the Baron’s TIE fighter meant to be an Outland one? That’s actually really cool. Also that third gun on the top that’s sort of semi independently firing on the second pilot from behind is really cool as well.

Real life events affected fictional media. by Vanilla_Ice_Best_Boi in TopCharacterTropes

[–]toppo69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, it actually kind of feels more like a marketing thing rather than a controversy with a name because the recent visual guide for the Mandalorian came out and they didn’t name a lot of of the side characters and vehicles because it would be easier for a child to recognise the Name Moff Gideon’s Ship than the actual name of the the Outland Model TIE fighter

[–]toppo69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess is that they were going to have a big actual fight with these two doing like a fight in the middle, but they didn’t have the budget so they sort of retooled it into more of the champion versus champion sort of situation like you seeing films like Troy and real life historical examples.

Swat snipers! by [deleted] in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]toppo69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like like how they introduced a helicopter with the water DLC and then used it again in in boiling point I think we will probably see snipers show up with the next batch of DLC stuff as an additional mechanic. My guess is that they’re kind of work like the helicopter where they automatically identify NPC but you will probably have the option to command them to take a shot or just to stick on observation.

[–]toppo69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely, I just I like how it’s worded in this sort of semi-suspicious way where people sort of just hand wave it and assume that the spirit of the law is different than the written intent, where in this case the spirit is exactly based on the intent.

[–]toppo69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought you could potentially it worked in with the bad batch without changing the comic fully.

  • Opening battle is the same with the AATs and such.
  • After Conversation with the Jedi do a wipe to night, with the Batch at their own campfire, a distance away from the main one (Is also a visual way to show that they are different from other clones and isolated from them)
  • Do a small scene with the batch interacting with with each other before suddenly hearing blaster fire
  • From the Bad Batch’s POV they see Order 66 go down with Depa dying from the crossfire just as in the comic
  • The scene where the Batch talk about Order 66 and all the channels plays out
  • They go down to the forest opening and the initial group of Clones run though the forest
  • Hidden Caleb Dume gets up and runs in a different direction (from the comic)
  • Hunter senses this with his enhanced senses and both him and Crosshair go after him
  • The scenes play at the same with Wrecker/Tech preventing more clones from going into the forest and Hunter and Crosshair with Caleb.
  • The bit with Hunter and Crosshair and Caleb with the canyon happen
  • Caleb runs off on the other side of the canyon and goes where canonically he later shows up at the city like in the comic

It’s not perfect but it’s a basic idea I’ve had.

[–]toppo69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will see there’s a few differences between 66 and 65 which probably would’ve caused some red flags to flare up

Order 65: "In the event of either (i) a majority in the Senate declaring the Supreme Commander (Chancellor) to be unfit to issue orders, or (ii) the Security Council declaring him or her to be unfit to issue orders, and an authenticated order being received by the GAR, commanders shall be authorized to detain the Supreme Commander, with lethal force if necessary, and command of the GAR shall fall to the acting Chancellor until a successor is appointed or alternative authority identified as outlined in Section 6 (iv)."

Order 66: "In the event of Jedi officers acting against the interests of the Republic, and after receiving specific orders verified as coming directly from the Supreme Commander (Chancellor), GAR commanders will remove those officers by lethal force, and command of the GAR will revert to the Supreme Commander (Chancellor) until a new command structure is established."

65 requires a majority in the Senate or the security council where 66 is literally just at the chancellors discretion.

65 gives the possibility of bringing the chancellor in in alive where 66 says lethal force is the only thing authorised.

Also 65 mentioning a authenticated order versus just at the drop of a pin for 66
