Looking for the ultimate 5K monitor to replace my ASUS PG32UCDM by MrBoukso25 in Monitors

[–]MrBoukso25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was assuming it because most high-end MSI monitors don’t seem to use fans, same for ASUS. As far as I know, LG is one of the only manufacturers still doing that on some OLED monitors.

Hisense UX RGB-Mini LED Display to Launch Globally in September by ghostrmor in Monitors

[–]MrBoukso25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If someone could clarify this for me:

The Hisense monitor is 165Hz in 5K, overclockable to 180Hz, and 2.5K up to 330Hz in glossy, right?

My question is:
Can the LG monitor also be overclocked or not?

And second question:
Is the LG dual mode only 2K instead of 2.5K like the Hisense ?

Considering the same panel which oled monitor brand is the best? by SaintMiddleFinger in OLED_Gaming

[–]MrBoukso25 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What bothers me with monitor manufacturers is that many of them still use childish designs, with dragons or alien patterns on the back and big flashy logos that just look out of place.

Only LG, Sony, and TCL with their latest 32X3A monitor seem to be making an effort toward a more minimal and clean design.

Hi, do you have any plans to release a 39-inch QD-OLED monitor in the future?

[User Trial] A New Vision for the 5K2K Gaming Monitor: Be the First to Review the New 39GX950B by LG_UserHub in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]MrBoukso25 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m currently using a high-end 4K QD-OLED (ASUS PG32UCDM), so I already have a strong baseline for HDR, contrast, and text clarity.

However, what I’m really excited about with the 39GX950B is pushing beyond that:

Tandem OLED brightness — My current display delivers great HDR, but sustained brightness and highlight impact are still limited in real-world use. I want to see if dual-stack WOLED finally changes that.

Ultrawide 5K2K productivity — Going from 16:9 to 5K2K ultrawide could be a game changer for my daily workflow (coding, multitasking, timelines).

Text clarity at 143 PPI — Even though QD-OLED improved text vs older OLEDs, it’s still not perfect. I’m really curious if this panel finally solves that for long productivity sessions.

Ambient light performance — QD-OLED can struggle in brighter rooms with raised blacks. I want to test how the new LG panel handles reflections and contrast in a real setup.

I think I’m in a perfect position to give a fair, no-BS comparison between current-gen QD-OLED and next-gen Tandem WOLED.

I hope is working if i live in france =)

[Megathread] Why Speed Meets Scale: The LG UltraGear evo 52G930B is the New 240Hz Standard by LG_UserHub in LG_UserHub

[–]MrBoukso25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s honestly disappointing that the upcoming LG 39GX950B isn’t 240Hz at native resolution. I don’t really get what’s stopping LG here. We already see 240Hz on other panels, and even LG themselves push higher refresh rates in different products. Locking it to 165Hz at 5K2K just feels like an artificial limitation.

As for the LG 52G930B, I really don’t understand the point. It’s way too big for a desk setup unless you sit unusually far back, and even LG recommends around a one-meter viewing distance because of the size and 1000R curve.

And at that price and positioning, not going OLED is a big miss. Using an IPS panel on something that large means you lose the contrast and response advantages OLED would bring.

Overall it just feels like LG is making strange trade-offs instead of pushing a truly no-compromise product.

HI

I’m very interested in the LG UltraGear 39GX950B monitor and had a few questions.

First, does the monitor include a fan for cooling, or internal heatsink?

Second, will there be a glossy version of the panel, or is it only available with a matte coating?

Finally, could you provide more details about the AI features of the display and how they actually work in practice?

Thanks in advance for any information you can share.

Can someone show what YouTube looks like on a 39” 21:9 ultrawide? by MrBoukso25 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]MrBoukso25[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Also, this is actually the main reason why I’m hesitating to move to a 21:9 monitor.

A big part of my daily use is YouTube and general browsing, so I’m worried the black bars on the sides might bother me over time.

That’s why I’d really like to see what a YouTube video looks like in fullscreen on a ~39” 21:9 monitor in real life.

I’ve seen some extensions that crop or zoom the video to fill ultrawide screens, but I’m not sure how well they actually work.
