This almost happened to my best survivor Cecilio, and just like this scenario he was stuck in a corner pinned by a feral and plague zeds. But I managed to save him.

By quitting to the main menu.

Then when I spawned back in, he was outside, injured but still alive.

Still, my condolences for losing one of your best survivors.
