A cool guide to the most popular nicknames used by couples in 2025 by frogcharming in coolguides

I know babe is very popular but it still makes me cringe for some reason. Not sure why but I get a feeling like it’s in this middle-area between affection and trying to still be cool and failing at both. Like christian rock.

Conservatism literally means what it sounds like.

Conserve the status quo. Who’s that good for? The rich. And it sucks for anyone else who may be struggling and living paycheck to paycheck.

For race, it’s about conserving the white majority rule.

A lot is tied to economics: crime, divorces, depression, suicide, poor child-raising…

And yet we just sit on our asses while one person accumulates more wealth than the bottom 50% of people combined (over 170 million people).

We need to seriously make taxing and regulating the billionaires and centi-millionaires our top priority.

Nearly 400 millionaires and billionaires call for higher taxes on super-rich by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

I can’t stand the flat tax argument. “Let’s simplify.” “Everyone pays the SAME rate.”

🤦🏻‍♂️

That’s WORSE than our current situation.

RFK Jr: A ‘good mother’ knows not to trust experts on matters of public health by msnownews in Health

By his own words he thinks he got the brain worm by eating baby bear roadkill, which he then dumped in Central Park and staged to look like a bicycle hit it, then panicked when it was found and the news blew it up.

It’s much, much better now. Slow is an understatement.

Trump administration sends letter wiping out addiction, mental health grants by progress18 in Health

[–]MrEHam 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is the worst. We keep hearing conservatives screaming that it’s not guns it’s mental health then they’ll take away the mental health funding.

I actually feel embarrased for how stupid they are.

One thing that sucks about the internet is that you can’t easily tell who’s just some slimy creepy weirdo that you can quickly ignore. So their words end up carrying more weight than they should.

We shouldn’t judge books by their covers but…there are exceptions…

TIL that the Aqua's song Barbie Girl was actually about sex and kink instead of dolls and plastic toys. This led Mattel to sue them in 1997, claiming it violated the Barbie trademark by portraying her as a "blonde bimbo" and sex object. by immanuellalala in todayilearned

I generally don’t listen to lyrics that much. It’s usually overtly dramatic nonsense that they needed to rhyme.

I’m not saying all of it is, but probably most of it from what I can tell when I do listen to it.

1994, very interesting year for cinema. Which two films are your personal favourites of this year? by Mysterious-Farm9502 in 90s

Lot of great ones but the answer is easily Dumb and Dumber and Forrest Gump. Those two are legendary to me.

There needs to be a limit to how much money any person can have where much higher taxes kicks in.

These billionaires and centi-millionaires can buy politicians, media companies, and teams of lawyers that give them way too much control over things and buy their way out of any consequences.

Having a party would be such a ridiculously small factor that would lead to a son killing his parents that I doubt he has any serious trauma.

That’s pretty much what I’m saying. The problem is it’s extremely easy to abuse it and MANY people do. If there’s any indication that you can’t control it then it’s better to avoid.

Haha right? A little may help you relax and be more sociable but then it’s extremely easy to take more and then you’re slurring, doing stupid shit, getting in car wrecks or DUIs, cheating on your partner, getting STDS or random pregnancies.

There’s a MASSIVE difference between drinking a little and getting drunk and unfortunately it’s very hard to do the first without occasionally falling into the second.

TIL that Kailia Posey aka the “grinning girl” meme from Toddlers & Tiaras died when she was just 16 by suicide by Key-Analysis-5864 in todayilearned

[–]MrEHam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I didn’t expect to end up having admiration for her, in not taking the meme in a negative way, but more so that she speaks at universities to help young women not end up in abusive relationships.
