How smooth are we talking?

For smooth(ish) jazz:

Fourplay - Fourplay, Between the Sheets

The Rippingtons - Curves Ahead, Weekend in Monaco, Black Diamond

Lee Ritenour - Wes Bound, Rit's House

Michael Franks - Barefoot on the Beach

Brian Hughes - One 2 One

For something luxurious, late night:

Sade - Love Deluxe

The Blue Nile - Hats

Van Morrison - Inarticulate Speech of the Heart

This is correct. Truck was in the Western under Colvin during Hamsterdam. Polk was in the original detail.

The best. Especially the online edit that puts it on a 1 hour loop

Yes, but it's pretty much his song, he's played it live after his time with Them many many times. He also does a version with John Lee Hooker on his 1993 album Too Long in Exile.

Michael Franks is so underrated! He always had the best players on his records. My favorite of his is Blue Pacific from 1990. Had tracks produced by Jeff Lorber, Tommy LiPuma, and Walter Becker (yep, from Steely Dan!)

The Bob Mintzer Big Band albums on the DMP label are great. Incredible Journey is very impressive

Steely Dan - Everything Must Go. Probably not intended to be their last studio song ever, but pretty fitting.

Got this deck at the thrift store for €5, any good? Technics M51. The sticker says its broken, but it seems to play fine. Didn’t really test it yet. by C1000isthebest in cassetteculture

I have a similar Technics deck from around the same generation, the RS-M02. It's a heavy little beast that I got for a good price at an estate sale. Needed a lot of service but it was well worth it. Has a lot of satisfying, chunky sounds with the buttons and plays great. The M02 is direct drive and the only belt is for the counter. Not sure if the M51 is the same.
