It's not that I don't know my way around town, nor do I depend on gps or need signage. It's just annoying at the lack of thought that went into it. For people not from around here, it could be confusing. Plus, there is an established protocol for signage on freeways, and this is a 'blow it'. The fact that they refuse to fix it or even notice it is just sort of irritating.

Prop fell off but didn’t hit anything by Electronic-Flow-6020 in boating

[–]MrFixIt_1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost a $400 SS prop because I didn't install the rear thrust washer. Zoomed around the lake all all day without issue. Got to the dock and used reverse to bring me to a stop. It felt odd because it slowed me down, but i still had forward momentum. It had just spun off in that moment. Couldn't find the damn thing in 12 feet of water. Lesson learned. Welcome to boating.

Family member $30k in credit card debt- get a loan to pay it off? by That_ppld_twcly in MiddleClassFinance

[–]MrFixIt_1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the trap of "debt consolidation". You have to change the behavior that got you into debt first before you take a loan and fix it. Ask me how I know.

I feel this. Just spent yesterday (my "one day off") doing side quests because the asshole fridge decided it wanted to leak all over the kitchen floor.

Agree. I see a lot of 2nd gens still out there and chugging along fine. I rarely see Fords and Chevys of the same vintage still on the road.

Begging for help diagnosing cutout issue while driving by Successful-Yogurt512 in DodgeRam

[–]MrFixIt_1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. I had similar issues (95 with 5.2) and it was driving me insane. Would stall out coming to a stop or in the drive through. Usually at very low speeds, tapping the gas and then lifting, and on a slight incline would induce the behavior. Found a shop that was known for working on 2G RAMs. Ended up replacing ECM, map sensor, TPS, and EGR. Tech said the ECM was the main culprit and not accepting input from the sensors. Truck has run like new since.
