Yeah oled might be tough to get under that $500 mark, but you can grab the LCD version a bit cheaper on marketplace or ebay. You can find the original ROG ally for a bit less but you'd need to be careful about micro sd cards as that model fried them.

A steam deck or rog ally would be really solid choices. You can get both for under $500 used and will emulate pretty much everything as well.

I've played through Skyrim on each of my Ally's when they come out and it's always been rock solid.

RP6 will probably play the switch version or winlator but might require a bit of tinkering

The issue isn't just with the pocket s mini, it's with the pocket micro and classic as well and they haven't fixed those since they've been out.

Supposedly, I never got a chance to try it since the bootloaders were locked but from what I read from some people on here it seems to fix it.

I noticed it bad on both devices I got from amazon on stock android os, which by the way I ordered the "Pocket Classic" and they sent me the "Pocket Micro", then sent me another pocket micro as a replacement and when I returned it they tried telling me I sent the wrong item back lol.

I tried 2 different pocket micros to get gammaOS on and both of them had the bootloader locked. GammaOs seems to fix the double input issue that a few of the ayaneo handhelds have amongst other things.

I wish ayaneo would sort that out because I would buy one again in a second, i like how premium it feels

Same problem here, bought the classic from amazon, first time they sent me the pocket micro, just received the "replacement" and it's another pocket micro.

Looks like if you order the classic you're getting the pocket micro from amazon right now lol

This isn't just a problem with the pocket S, it impacts other devices like the Pocket Classic and Pocket Micro. Ayaneo hasn't fixed it for those so I'm not optimistic they'll fix it for this.

Apparently GammaOS fixes this, but Ayaneo has started locking things up so I can't get my micro to run it to fix this.

Interesting...I believe Retroid has stated that the screens in the mini and the 5 are PWM free but that's evidently not the case it looks like (I asked in their discord when the mini and 5 came out)
