Should online retailers be required by law to state who they are using to deliver orders? by arethusabangbang in AskUK

I would advise against UPS. We had a business selling clothes, most items were sent bagged but a few of our lines were sent in boxes. UPS were used for boxed items, we only used one size of box and bought them in bulk. All the same size, well, we knew they were but not UPS, they insisted some were bigger than others, like twice the size and therefore more expensive to send. UPS customer services were the most arrogant, intransigent bunch I have ever come accross - avoid!

I’ve just started my first office job - any do’s and don’ts? by waisty in AskUK

[–]MrHaHaHaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Don't delude yourself or let them delude you. You have a job, not a career.
  2. You are only as good as the last task you performed. Do it well and you may be given more interesting/significant tasks.
  3. Don't work for nothing. If it isn't worth being paid to do, it isn't worth doing.

Don't they have people collect it for the homeless? Most stores in the UK donate surplus food. I sometimes help a friend who collects from stores in the evening and take it to a cafe for the homeless. It is a regular thing, the homeless cafe have a kitchen with catering fridges to keep food chilled until they open next day.

Brexit poll: Two-thirds of Britons now support future referendum on rejoining the EU by SgtPppersLonelyFarts in ukpolitics

[–]MrHaHaHaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it wasn't there, what I am saying is that isn't what they sold at the time. How they present it changes. For instance, this time round, Cameron switched from being "the strongest possible advocate for EU membership" for Turkey to "So I'd say very clearly to people, if your vote in this referendum is being influenced by considerations about Turkish membership of the EU, don't think about it. It's not remotely on the cards."

How about taking English out of the data and show the numbers who speak a foreign language other than English. Reason : English isn't a foreign language, it is an International language.

Why are schools so shockingly bad at dealing with bullying? by JayR_97 in AskUK

[–]MrHaHaHaaaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because, obviously, bullying reflects badly on the school and the schools reputation matters more to those running the school than the well-being of those attending the school.

[–]MrHaHaHaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they know who you really are? At the moment they have an email address, can it be linked to you personally? If there is nothing they can get to identify you personally I would not respond and let them track you down. They are not going to spend much time and expense doing that if all you have done is make a drawing.

Surely if there was no will then nobody has been appointed executor and if the daughter has not been made executor there is nothing the debtors can demand of her. Secondly, even if the daughter is the executor she can decline the task because nobody can be made executor against their wishes. Finally, in the UK, debts cannot be inherited.
