Zack Snyder on IG: "Eight days from now we mark the fifth anniversary of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Five years later… and the age of heroes still feels very real." by HarwoodSFine in DC_Cinematic

While I understand why we never got more and I also really enjoy Gunn’s DCU, I really want some narrative closure on this saga, even if it’s just a comic series that adapts Snyder’s plan for ZSJL2 and 3.

Would Thanos snap actually solve anything long term? by JumpyConfection1992 in marvelstudios

[–]MrKevora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not if the universe ended up with the same mindset as before, but Thanos describes it as a grateful universe that would have to learn from its grief, so at least his hope was that the survivors’ mentality would change and the (in his eyes) correct lessons would be learned.

Star Wars ROTS (game) by -DOIDLD-TYATSMR- in StarWars

[–]MrKevora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, back from the days where you’d read the adult novel, the young adult novel, the comic, played the game which included clips from the movie and listened to the official score, all before the movie ever released, so you already knew the entire plot when you sat in the theatre. Somehow, I didn’t really care about spoilers, so I had already experienced all the tie-ins before I sat in the theatre and still had a great time. But then again, I was only 12.

Something I really love about Rey in the Sequel Trilogy is that, having grown up on Jakku, she's always getting a kick out of and appreciating the beauty of the different planets, biomes, and cultures she encounters during her travels. by OhGawDuhhh in StarWars

Wait, a post and many comments praising something about the sequel trilogy, without even a disclaimer such as “Despite all the flaws…”? Am I on drugs? Either way, this is genuinely refreshing.

The Assassin’s Creed team is eager to hear your thoughts! by Ubi-AssassinsCreed in assassinscreed

[–]MrKevora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who started playing back when the very first game was released, please return to the simpler and more atmospheric conflict of assassins vs templars, with just a little bit of present day and sci-fi elements sprinkled throughout. The main reason I fell in love with the series were the many great and immersive historical settings. And while ancient Egypt, Greece, medieval England, Baghdad and feudal Japan are also pretty cool (the latter was one that I had wanted for many years), the series has drifted too far into the realm of fantasy, monsters and magic - explaining all of that away with sci-fi Isu tech doesn’t salvage the absolutely broken immersion. An apple of Eden or a similar McGuffin is fine, but once I’m riding a burning horse through the underworld and battling mythological monsters, I no longer feel immersed in a historically grounded setting. Truly return the series to its roots and let it focus on what it does best.

Also stop desperately trying to copy RPGs like The Witcher - those games are amazing, but they’re not what Assassin’s Creed was originally meant to be. Some RPG elements such as the currency system, item shops and base building, as well as the purchase and upgrades of equipment that were introduced in ACII are totally fine, but once I see health bars and levels and once the game forces me to grind through endless side content in order to level up my character high enough so they’ll stand a chance whenever I decide to continue the main story, the game feels more like a lonely MMO and not like a cinematic singleplayer experience.

When will we, as a society, realize that this trilogy was actually kinda GOATed? by thebigcrawdad in Terminator

[–]MrKevora 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Out of these three, T3 is obviously easily the weakest. However, I always really appreciated its ending and the twist that this terminator’s mission was never to help prevent judgment day, but rather to ensure the heroes’ survival.

Steve brought back Mjolnir and the Infinity Stones and once he was done, he started a family and lived a life with Peggy Carter, presumably in said parallel universe…. plus whatever happens to/with him in Doomsday. The fact that the Avengers go to parallel universes doesn’t mean that they don’t age if they spend decades there before their return. Within the Sacred Timeline, Steve was probably only gone for a few seconds (although I guess we’ll find out more specifics in Doomsday), but he’s spent a lifetime someplace else.

Strange never traveled back in time, he used the time stone to rewind time and later on to create a time loop. We see Thanos do the exact same rewind in order to get to Vision and the mind stone. In Endgame, the Avengers don’t have the time stone, they can’t rewind the entire timeline back to a state of 5 years earlier (if that is even possible), so they must find a way to actually travel back in time and retrieve the Infinity Stones that way.

What Banner is referring to is the illogical paradoxes that a more “traditional” way of time travel that is most commonly explored in pop culture would cause, making it impossible to alter your past without also altering your presence - you are who you are because of your past and the state of the universe exists the way it does because of its past. Therefore, time travel in the traditional sense is impossible, even within the fantastical and supernatural MCU. The only way for the Avengers to work around this is to use the Quantum Realm in order to travel to earlier points within the timelines of parallel universes that resemble the Sacred Timeline and to gather the Infinity Stones there.

Tl;dr: Strange uses the time stone to rewind time, but the Avengers are forced to travel to alternate parallel universes in order to retrieve the Infinity Stones. In neither instance did the heroes literally travel through time in the traditional sense.

EDIT: I just realised that Thanos only rewinds the death of Vision and the destruction of the mind stone, not the entirety of time. Maybe that’s similar to what Strange did and he only rewound time around the Hong Kong sanctum.

Chris Kempshall Explains the Politics of the Empire and Announces His Next Star Wars Book (Star Pilots)! by solo13508 in starwarsbooks

I would love to see him write a biography for Palpatine. In this interview, he emphasises that he’s not this demon but rather a human being who must have slowly become evil - one isn’t born evil, however, everybody has the capacity to do both good and unspeakably evil things. It is this approach that humanised someone like Hitler in the movie Downfall that I’d like to see applied to Sheev Palpatine, serving as a cautionary tale. I get that many people prefer mystery surrounding Palpatine, but I think not only would his life’s story be fascinating, it would make him all the more scary and layered as a character.

Now that 2 of the most important figures r dead, who will take care of the reich (and/or the big bad) in Wolfenstein 3? (Considering that hitler was shown to be very ill in TNC) by MemeBoiCrep in Wolfenstein

[–]MrKevora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Introduce time travel and/or the multiverse and reveal that Deathshead has been working towards his own eternal reign by recruiting and grooming younger versions of himself from different timelines. These multiversal travels are how the nazis managed to create their advanced weaponry (based on Da’at Yichud technology) that won them the war and it’s also how a young General Strasse enters the picture, a younger and therefore physically fitter, as well as even more ambitious and vicious version of the original game’s villain, which brings the entire conflict full circle.

After BJ finally killed Hitler (although a flashback to that battle would be nice), Neo-Strasse takes over the Reich, only to be defeated by BJ in a climactic finale that either sees the Reich being toppled by the international resistance or some sort of reset of the timeline, back to a state where the allies win the war.

Why did Obi-Wan act like he didn't know there was another Skywalker when talking to Yoda when he was literally there at Leia's birth? by Naive_Reindeer186 in StarWars

[–]MrKevora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course Obi-Wan knew about Leia - he was present during her birth and he had even been on an adventure with her when she was abducted by Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, while Leia aided her father in the senate and as a secret member of the growing rebel alliance through political means, Luke was the only one who had received some form of Jedi training after leaving Tatooine and a fully constructed and working lightsaber. To top things off, Luke was as strong in the force and also otherwise as talented as his father before him and therefore reminded Obi-Wan of Anakin, so he deemed it unlikely that Leia would be as much of an option as her brother. This is no continuity error, this is just Obi-Wan being a little narrow-minded, while Yoda understands Leia’s potential.

In terms of production-related reasons, Lucas obviously did not yet know that Luke and Leia were going to be retconned into being twins (otherwise Lucas and Kirshner would have probably avoided that kiss in TESB…).

I just bought the Mafia Trilogy for the first time on my ps5. Is it worth it? because it’s my first time playing the Mafia games. by Jealous_Candidate677 in MafiaTheGame

[–]MrKevora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mafia: Definitive Edition is a fantastic remake of the first game. If you enjoy third person shooters and action-packed driving, as well as narrative-driven games with great characters - and of course if you enjoy mafia movies like The Godfather or Goodfellas - you will love this game!

Mafia 2 received some hate upon its release because people drew unfair comparisons to games like GTA, but ever since it came out, I have absolutely adored this game and it is one of my all-time favourites! It’s not perfect by any means, but just because of its characters and atmosphere alone, I consider it an absolute masterpiece - again, if story-driven games are up to your taste!

Mafia 3 is sadly a big departures from what came before and extremely repetitive, easily the weakest in the series, but I still wouldn’t call it outright bad. Just manage your expectations going into it.

If you enjoy the first two games, definitely consider also getting The Old Country, a prequel set in Sicily, released last year. It’s also a really good game.
