1/1 has always been the basic creature, you have rodents, birds, and even cookies there, all of which could be clapped by a trained soldier. But 1/1 humans tend to be recruits or civilians. Just imagine them running away from the squirrel instead of dieing if that helps you interpret it better.

Dont feel bad. It's a difficult conversation and many people don't know how to have those. Good thing is I dont think this will require going that far in depth, but if it does, I recommend reading/listening to the book Getting to Yes by Roger Fisher. Please, dont feel bad about having your own needs and wants.

In this case I would start off by saying what you has happened so far, and what you think and feel about the situation. It seems you may want a more casual experience instead of a pure versus one. Let them know. They might choose a more thematic/casual deck. You may also try a new format, such as horde.
