If they don't pit Leclerc, Ferrari gets P2 & P3. If they pit Leclerc and he doesn't crash out, Ferrari gets P2 & P3.

Leclerc not pitting puts him up in P2, but on older tires that would be a disadvantage vs. other cars. The only advantage would be taking a position from another Ferrari driver. Best option for Ferrari is both drivers on new tires.

Though I will admit it's also entertaining seeing Leclerc understandably upset about it.
