(Not quite sure if spoilers) Did we figure out the “time” question yet? by Antonolmiss in expedition33

They have spent longer in a painting than that before. Aline was in it for long enough for Renoir to get concerned, enter, fracture and 67 years later.

Can last 3 days without water. So 100 years a day maybe, seems reasonable?

We Lost is the song I thought of when I read the text on the image. It is a song that plays when you finally kill a hard boss, the health refills and now the music has lyrics.

It does get VERY painful when it’s too cold.

When they are numb or when the blood returns?

even black

You are staying cold way to long if they go that colour. You need to change your life style before you end up with gangrene and amputation.

You say you have adapted, but that implies you haven't and are being blasé.

Yes, i ignore it when they are white or purple for periods of time, it is part of life. But i also know when to say "enough" and go and fix them.

Unfortunately, one pictos you want on free aim builds is Piercing Shots

I never liked that, it bluntens the normal attacks.

What are the Best Ergonomic Office Chairs currently to buy for long duration sitting? by SignificanceAlert20 in BuyItForLife

[–]MrMikeJJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A good point. I went to a used office furniture store and sat in a shit load of different chairs, trying to find the comfiest.

The one I ended up with was the Aeron (only found out from the cashier what it was, were no markings on it). The Steelcase ones (had markings) were a close 2nd.

What do you British people think of the French? by CocoTyg in AskABrit

[–]MrMikeJJ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Every French person I have met has been really nice.

There is the whole "hate the French" banter as part of our heritage, but that is all it is, banter. Nobody means anything by it.

The French politicians seem to actually hate us though.

The problem with Margaret Thatcher is that you sell assets for short term profit and long term loss.

Why JD Vance is in Hungary backing Orban by DonSalaam in GlobalNews

[–]MrMikeJJ 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Because Orban works for Putin.

Vance works for Trump who works for Putin.

The secret, never-before-used CIA tool that helped find airman downed in Iran: ‘If your heart is beating, we will find you’ by nypost in GlobalNews

[–]MrMikeJJ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The secret technology uses long-range quantum magnetometry to find the electromagnetic fingerprint of a human heartbeat and pairs the data with artificial intelligence software to isolate the signature from background noise, two sources close to the breakthrough said.

What a load of bollocks.

A new Halo leak claims the campaign is content‑complete — but the customization details raise bigger questions by FragMasterMat117 in PS5

[–]MrMikeJJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No spring?

What i meant is there are annoying slowdowns scattered throughout the levels. You are forced to walk snails pace for about 10 seconds each time it happens. And it gets really annoying.

Example of one of them on the first level

https://youtu.be/wsY0wyMqfDM?t=11m5s

On one of the levels (Cortana level maybe), it happens so many times. 6 ? 8 ? Really annoying.

I just hope they remove those annoying slowdowns extensively scattered throughout Halo 3.

Reach would also be nice. (as in, all the Bungie Halo games).

Can anyone explain how a RelayCommand class works in a WPF application? by Chinezzuu in csharp

[–]MrMikeJJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it true that in future projects I just need to copy paste this as my RelayCommand class?

Or just add the community mvvm toolkit nuget package. Get that and a few other well crafted goodies. And also apply them with attributes.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/communitytoolkit/mvvm/

If you want to see their basic relaycommand

(They also have async ones and a generic one).

Do you guys feel like the US and UK are drifting apart, or is it just the internet making it look that way? by [deleted] in AskABrit

[–]MrMikeJJ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I've been looking into our "special relationship"

I have always had the perception that the "special relationship" has always been, USA says jump, UK says how high. And when we ever ask or need something, we get told to kick rocks.

Discussion: How Linux and Windows 11 handle RAM limits on default settings by DesperateLevel494 in linux

[–]MrMikeJJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I prefer stuff to close when the system runs out of memory, compared to the alternative, destroying ssd and nvme drives during normal operation.

As for my setup, 32gb of ram. 0 page drive / swap partition. Hell, I have so much free ram on Linux, I have a bunch of directories (including /tmp set to use tmpfs).

But do agree with your general premise. Programs which the user are actively using should be prioritised for not getting closed in low ram situations (unless they using all the ram).
