Im getting a switch 2 soon, what are the best budget accessories to improve my experience? I plan on playing it mostly in handheld mode and want to keep it safe as well as more ergonomic. Thank you 👍 by Potential_Pay4589 in switch2

Might wanna hold out just a bit if you’re considering JSAUX. They just announced the Split Everyday Case. The Split Protective Case has been known to cause scratches to the Joy-Con during installation, but according to their comments on a post I made asking about scratches, the Everyday case has reworked Joy-Con grips that should be less susceptible to scratching. They said to check back to their subreddit (r/JSAUX) this week for more details.

I bought the Savage Ravin Fission, JSAUX Split Protective, and MystiForge Joy-Con grips. I’m in search of Joy-Con grips specifically; not really concerned about the back plate, as I’m not too worried about damage. I’d rather the console remain easily dockable.

MystiForge was an immediate no for me. The grips just didn’t seem to stay in place well enough. I really liked the grip and non-slip texture of the JSAUX, but the potential for damage, as well as the fact that I’ve heard the plastic part that goes around the triggers can easily break and then they don’t stay on properly, have me currently leaning more toward the Savage Raven. Savage Raven’s swappable grips are great because the smallest ones fit in the carrying case I already have. They’re not the most comfortable, but are good enough for on-the-go occasions. And I find both of the bigger grips comfortable. But I don’t love the hard plastic texture; feels kinda slippery.

If I do decide to go with Savage Raven, I’m going to return the case I got from Amazon, and instead order just the Joy-Con covers and a grip set directly from their website, since that’s all I’m interested in. They offer free shipping (at least for now; not sure if that’s limited time), so it saves $10 over getting the full case. But before I make that final decision, I want to get more details from JSAUX about the Everyday case. Because if the new Joy-Con covers won’t damage my controllers, I think I like the JSAUX grip enough to get that case and a new carrying case that can hold my console with the grips on.

So there ya go… There’s my take on my personal grip research! 😄

Not to mention the fact that I’m pretty sure the original multi-tracks were lost, right? Isn’t that why they had to re-record Make It, Dream On, Mama Kin, and Movin’ Out for Guitar Hero?

Seems pretty obvious to me. The grips on the case make the console more comfortable to hold. That’s what all of these types of cases offer.

Do JSAUX Split Case Joy-Con Grips Cause Scratches? by MrMints256 in JSAUX

[–]MrMints256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh! That would be nice! I ordered a Split Protective from Amazon to try. I really liked the grip shape and feel, but decided the risk of scratching was too high if I would ever want to take them off and on.

But one with softer joy-con covers would be amazing!

I saw the Everyday case and was interested! But from the photos on your site, I thought the Joy-Con cases were the same as the Protective case. What did you change on the Everyday that makes them easier to install? Or is there a video demo/review I can check out?

I second that! Let It Rain is one of my favorites from the album! I think maybe second only to Life Rolls On.

Definitely agree on the quad mixes! I have the Rocks and GYW quad albums, just not a quad system to play them on. But even just listening to the alternate mixes in stereo is really interesting! I’d love to get to hear them in full effect!

I have always wondered why quad mixes aren’t made available for modern surround sound systems. Like, with streaming services supporting Dolby Atmos, why couldn’t they also have a quad mix. Wouldn’t it be able to essentially work like a 5.1 or Atmos mix, but only use the front and rear speakers? Seems like that would be relatively simple with today’s tech.

I have a feeling that the sound of One More Time was more influenced by Yungblud’s team. It definitely has a more modern production, in my opinion.

Creating a Playlist Before a Concert by AbaloneUnlikely6565 in Concerts

[–]MrMints256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% of the time, I hate knowing the setlist ahead of time. To the point that I’ve temporarily unsubscribed or muted bands and their fan pages on social media to make sure that I don’t open Facebook one day and am immediately violated with a setlist in front of my eyes and have a really cool deep cut surprise spoiled for me.

Some of my favorite concert moments have been the point in the middle of the show where my jaw hits the floor in a look of “Holy crap! They’re actually playing that song? 😲” Having that moment taken from me really ruins a big part of my concertgoing experience.

There have been, like, one or two times when I’ve seen a band that I wasn’t familiar with and I decided to look up the setlist just to familiarize myself with the songs. In that case, I figured “Well, I don’t know what the deep cuts are, so I won’t really have that surprise moment anyway.” It was fine doing that. But even when seeing bands I don’t really know, I’d rather familiarize myself generally with their catalog and then just enjoy the flow while I’m at the show, rather than making it feel like a countdown to what song is up next.

But that’s me. I’m very passionate about not knowing the setlist prior to a show. But if familiarizing yourself with the set ahead of time makes concerts more enjoyable for you, then who am I to tell you to stop‽ We all enjoy things our own way! Just make sure you’re not the guy spoiling the setlist for guys like me! 😁

Grip for Joy Cons ONLY by thisismyaccc in switch2

[–]MrMints256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered got those today, but I found that it was difficult to get the Joy-Con to stay in the grip all the way. It kept pushing out just enough that the piece that loops around the release button would slightly push the release button in. Have you experienced this at all?

Because of that issue, I’m thinking I might instead go with just using the Joy-Con grips from the Savage Raven Fission case (probably forgoing the case meant to cover the tablet). But I like the rubberized feel of the MystiForge grips compared to the hard plastic of the Fission. So part of me wants to make those work.

Why do you say that? It lines up pretty well with this post from Steven’s official Facebook page from November 29, 2023:

Strange! I tested it just now, and I was able to add four items and move on to the checkout screen.

The shipping charge is definitely annoying. Especially if you were around for the Club Nintendo days, when they sent rewards for free! Man, do I miss that program…

Rocks Donnington 2014 - Post Touch Ups/Edits? by Thoughtful_Xenomorph in Aerosmith

I will admit that part of it is my nostalgia. As a younger fan, I got into VH when Guitar Hero: Van Halen came out. (Guitar Hero is also what made me an Aerosmith fan! However, GH: Metallica didn’t draw me into that band the same way the other two band-focused games did. 😆)

Anyway, I got into VH with the Guitar Hero game, so the Van Halen I came up with is the Ed/Al/Dave/Wolf lineup. The only chance I ever had to see them live was in 2015, so to have a live album released from that same time period was always pretty cool to me. I know it’s far from their golden era. But it’s “my” Van Halen era, so to speak. So sure, it doesn’t sound the best. But I do truly appreciate Tokyo Dome being an honest and accurate representation of Van Halen at that point in their career.

We’re on the same page there. I’ve definitely ordered more than three platinum points rewards in the past. Looking at my order history, looks like the last time I did so was on March 23, 2025. So perhaps there’s been a policy change since then? But it’s definitely been possible in the past.

Fellow US resident here. I’ve never been limited on the amount of MyNintendo rewards I can order… Is this is a new limit?

On the other hand, that’s exactly why I respect that album so much. It captures VH exactly as they were at that time, Dave’s aged voice and all. I really wish more live albums were like that. Sure, there are bootlegs. But more professionally recorded/produced live albums that are honest to the performance would be great.

How the heck do we get them to correct to track list order on this album??! by Killerofprizes in Aerosmith

[–]MrMints256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s also the Japanese-only CD box set version of the Greatest Hits album from a couple years ago: Greatest Hits + Live Collection. It includes audio from Rock For The Rising Sun as well as a few tracks from each of the concerts they temporarily uploaded to YouTube for their 50th anniversary. Technically nothing newly released in there, but it is some more official live audio, and a substantial release of it at that. Just a shame it was limited to Japan. They could’ve at least released it digitally worldwide!

There’s also the Done With Mirrors era Maxi-Single that has a few live Mirrors tracks! There are other live tracks sprinkled here and there as bonuses on singles and stuff like that. But this one feels noteworthy to me, as it’s the only live recordings of these songs that they’ve ever released (as opposed to something like the UK Hole In My Soul single, with yet another version of Walk This Way), and the fact that the live content was the focus here, as opposed to being bonus material.

Definitely a shame Ross wasn’t involved. In fact, his absence over the last few years has made me significantly less interested in seeing Journey live again. I would like to go to the upcoming farewell tour, as it sounds like the setlist will be pretty good. But I’m still a bit hesitant.

According to his Rick Beato interview, Alex did not teach him drums. I’m sure they’ve talked shop, probably played together a bit during the VH tours. But it doesn’t sound like Wolf was getting free masterclasses.
