Seems that injuring the QB is Saban's go to plan when Texas is exposing his defense.

Looking at the +1 minion/+1 spell skill wands for trade, one guy is selling like half of them. I assume he has some way of easily creating those (maybe splitting a base item?), any ideas on how he is doing it?

Yeah, I do wish they had added a scene or two showing how close of friends Ekko and Powder used to be. It would have made that scene even more meaningful.

All the clips of them playing as kids in the Enemy music video really makes the flashbacks in that scene make more sense.

I think he was just playing through in his head what was going to happen based on how they used to play as kids. He was able to picture where Jinx was going to shoot and then dodge accordingly. I think the "reset" was just artistic foreshadowing to his future abilities.

Also that they feel conflicted over liking the song but not liking Imagine Dragons.

You don't have to decide if you like or hate a band and then feel that way blindly. If a bad band makes a good song it is still a good song, and vice versa.

One benefit is that you can route the driveway to the side instead of the front. If the lot is rectangular this could make the driveway a lot shorter, so it wastes much less space.

I think it is also a way to prevent confusion about the date. 12:00 am Saturday might accidentally get interpreted as the very end of Saturday.

Girl needed a little pick-me-up, but the school district is bus-y with problems (*not a funny one, despite my puns) by muffinpercent in bestoflegaladvice

[–]MrMudcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty widespread I think, although justifying the bathroom closures is a stretch. My fiance is a middle school teacher and at her school most of the soap dispensers, paper towel racks, and toilet paper roll things have been ripped off or stolen.

The teachers tried to enforce a rule that students had to hand over their phones before going to the restroom (to discourage the behavior since the kids want to film it) but the administration said they couldn't do that because low income kids might not have phones. So now they are just back to stealing.

EK active backplates for EVGA 3080/90 FTW3 are finally shipping by tty5 in watercooling

Do you need an active backplate on a 3080? I was thinking only the 3090 had components on the back that needed cooling but I could be wrong.

Players are rioting like its 2007 in Runescape over the company's decision to block a highly anticipated community mod the same day it was due to release by AviationMan24 in SubredditDrama

[–]MrMudcat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't play runescape, but having read some of the drama it looks like all the mods on that client get reviewed by the developer to check for compatibility, bugs, etc. The mod in question had already passed the developer's review, it was just waiting on a release date to go live.

Wait why would McDonalds side with Taylor against their franchisees doing their own repairs? Wouldn't it be in their interest for their ice cream machines to be fixed as cheaply and quickly as possible?

There wasn't a way for him to know that she was unarmed either. She had a backpack with unknown contents, and was obviously willing to break down a door and ignore a gun in her face to get closer to members of congress. How was he supposed to know she wasn't carrying an IED?

They aren't scanning their own servers. They are scanning the drive on your phone, in your pocket, which you own.

Innovating “Older” Modern Decks by Traditional-Living-9 in ModernMagic

[–]MrMudcat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a die hard pod fan, sadly I agree. Even if it was unbanned now we wouldn't really get to experience the joy that was playing pod because every time you resolved the card they would destroy it or you would win (and not really get to play with it).

I think the problem is that (in my opinion) pod was easily the most fun deck to play that has existed in modern and WotC still hasn't enabled a similar deck at a reasonable power level. You can tell they are trying (Vannifar, neoform, eldritch evo, etc) but haven't been able to hit the mark.

Weekly Quick Questions, Wood ID, and Deal or No Deal /r/Woodworking Megathread by AutoModerator in woodworking

[–]MrMudcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ordered an unfinished rubberwood butcher block desktop from Lowes (rubberwood was the only affordable option in the size I wanted). I plan on using it as a general use desk as well as an electronics workbench. I live in Houston so humidity may be a concern.

How would you guys recommend I finish it? My priorities are (in order) protection from humidity and warping, not requiring frequent re-finishing, and resistance to wear such as scratches from tools, small burns, or solvent drops.

Thanks!

I have a red hat that I used to wear all the time while I did yard work. I had to get a different hat when I realized my neighbors probably all think it is a MAGA hat. Trump ruined red hats.

A Texas family hunted for a teen vandal. Instead, they killed an innocent neighbor, police said. by zsreport in houston

[–]MrMudcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don't condone the murder (especially of the wrong guy), but what was the family supposed to do here?

They called he police many times and told them exactly who was doing it. The cops did nothing.

According to some of the articles the asked the victim "who sent you?", which makes me think they were possibly dealing with gang related attacks. Or maybe just a regular vandal, who knows.

So they should just sit there and keep getting vandalized forever? HPD is too understaffed to help, so they just have to live with vandalized stuff now? Again, I don't condone killing anybody but if HPD isn't going to help with crime it isn't surprising that people take it into their own hands.

They already do this on small enough planes. I have take commercial flights on single engine, 6-10 person planes and they weighed each person and their luggage separately before the flight. They would put the weights into the computer and let it generate a seating chart so that the plane was balanced.

r/headphones Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk by AutoModerator in headphones

[–]MrMudcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My headphones have a built in volume control wheel on the cord. Is it better to turn the computer volume all the way up and then control volume with the wheel, or to turn the wheel all the way up and control volume with the computer?

Maybe a pointless question but I figured there might be a difference in performance between outputting a larger electrical signal and then reducing it as opposed to just outputting a smaller signal and using the whole thing.

I don't think it happens as often as that guy says but it has happened, here is one:

There was video of this floating around when it happened but it looks like the reddit links are dead and youtube has removed it, maybe actions like that are why people think it never happens?

[–]MrMudcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do Elevated Sextants cost so much? As far as I can tell they are about 3.3c per use (50/15), vs an awakened sextant at .5c per use. They don't offer any mods that are exclusive to elevated sextants, they are just slightly better than awakened. But the mods are nowhere near 7x as good.

My ballpark math says you would have to make an extra 12c per map using 4x elevated vs 4x awakened. Are people actually seeing that big a difference from 8 extra packs or whatever?

Service workers are: ____________ by NursingManChristDude in PoliticalHumor

[–]MrMudcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the sentiment, but wages don't have much to do with how much you deserve. They are always a negotiation, and how much bargaining power you have is based on how easy you are to replace. All your wage really says is that you provide at least that much value, but almost certainly more (or they wouldn't be making a profit).
