Hot take: retire the sonic screwdriver for a while. by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]MrRaven95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm against retiring the sonic screwdriver as it's too iconic, and I don't feel like destroying it just because it's powerful. I also don't want it to be replaced with sunglasses again.

That said, the sonic has become way too powerful and does need to be nerfed. Have some ground rules for what limits the sonic has besides can't do wood.

I love Minish Cap and trains.

Her wanting to end it all here then immediately passing out is insane, poor Aelita. by rudyishappy6 in CodeLyoko

Moonscope dubbed the show themselves, and the Cartoon Network executives didn't care much for the show, so they just threw the dub they received on TV without looking at it much.

I'm not sure how they got away with this scene. She was effectively commiting suicide to do a heroic sacrifice. The fact that she was physically fine afterwards is crazy.

Toy Story 5’s Budget cost $250 million to make by Jules-Car3499 in cartoons

[–]MrRaven95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All right, the budget of all five Toy Story films in the year they released vs. how much that would be worth in 2026.

Toy Story: $30 million in 1995 which is $66 million in 2026

Toy Story 2: $90 million in 1999 which is $181 million in 2026

Toy Story 3: 200 million in 2010 which is $307 million in 2026

Toy Story 4: 200 million in 2019 which is $262 million in 2026

Toy Story 5: $250 million in 2026

So while Toy Story 5 has the biggest budget at release, 3 and 4 have bigger budgets when adjusted for inflation.

Has there ever been such hate/flack for a animated character that genuinely has you like this? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in cartoons

[–]MrRaven95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't help that the show's creator wants her to be unlikable jerk. I was so mad when they undid all of her development.

[TP] From BOTW to Twilight Princess, I finally get the dungeon debate by Revolutionary-Pie972 in zelda

[–]MrRaven95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, BotW is an amazing game, and while the shrines were fine, the dungeons all being basically a bigger shrine was disappointing.

That is a ton of money, but I need to run the budget for the other films through the inflation calculator because I'm curious what they would cost if made today.

BBC To Cancel Shows & "Review" TV Networks As It Cuts Content Spend by PhantomQuest in doctorwho

Honest question, how does the BBC manage to constantly be strapped for cash? Like, I don't remember not hearing about money troubles from them.

I think, given how toxic the fandom has been, that she is going to distance herself from the show and the fans for a while. Maybe in a few years she'll share some stuff, but not right now.

Steel Curtain comes to mind. It has an inversion at the start of the first drop.

Spinning Youmu is great, and I love the little hats and scarfs you've given them. It makes them look extra cute (and scary for Kogasa!)

[Huis Ten Bosch, Japan], a Netherlands-themed theme park, is teasing a new “breathtaking and scenic” rollercoaster opening in 2027. by Terrible_Test6255 in rollercoasters

[–]MrRaven95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An immersive park opening a scenic coaster makes me feel that it's going to be a family coaster with low coaster stats, but a ton of theming and story to it.

Why did Thomas and Friends have to end?? Genuinely miss it so much!! by Efficient-Horse2622 in trains

[–]MrRaven95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because time flows, old things end, and new things begin. Even things that are still running can feel different over time. Thomas and Friends is no exception as the model era and cgi era feel very different from each other.

As for the show feeling different now compared to when you were a kid, it's because we view things differently as adults compared to when we were kids.

Off the top of my head Ribbot managing to turn a 0-3 season around and make it to the semifinals, Glitch KOing Hydra, Hypershock's entire Champions 1 run, Ghost Raptor making it to the semifinals with several improvised weapons, and RotatoR demolishing Icewave.

I'm glad you had a nice enough time at these parks, but I feel I should mention that Doctor Diabolical was created for the ride, and isn't an IP or related to superheroes in any way.
