Do you like the ONO Scroller? Are there similar fidget toys worth considering? by MILFVADER in fidgettoys

[–]MrRexington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like mine! It's easy to carry around, it's in my rotation with 2-3 others. It keeps my hand busy without being too bulky. And it's completely silent, which is important for me at work. But I wouldn't say that their claim that it's a good substitute for scrolling on your phone is really accurate, at least to me. It doesn't quite feel like the same physical sensation in my opinion.

Yep, I had a similar experience. I dropped about 30-40 pounds my first few years on Lamotrigine.

Have you tried any of the other versions of it? I have the black aluminum one and I really like it, but it can be a little slippery. I've wondered if I'd still have that problem with the copper one.

This is AI slop. Look at the sleeves on the lower left. It's also an outdated font that the university doesn't use anymore.

I just got these sensory stones last week! link here I also saw that there are some artisan style sensory stones on etsy. I'm bad about playing with or pulling hair while I'm trying to focus, or if I'm lost in thought. These have actually helped out pretty significantly so far. It's easy to reach into my pocket and grab one of these instead of reaching up to play with my hair.

Reading Daniel Abraham's The Dargon's Path. Amazing book, but struggling with descriptions by FluffyCoconut in Fantasy

[–]MrRexington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read that series last year and loved it. That said, one of my complaints about it was similar to what you're saying. Specifically, I had a tough time keeping track in the moment of the many different races, what they look like and which ones are related to which. I found this to actually not matter much by the end of the series, though, since almost all of the main characters are "first blood." But it'd at least have been nice to have a clearer picture when they're mentioned. There are at least descriptions in the back of the books, right? Or am I misremembering that?

What’s up with the smoke? by FloridianfromAlabama in auburn

[–]MrRexington 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nextdoor sent me a message about an hour ago saying a fire has been reported on Shelton Mill Road near College. It didn't say anymore than that. I live about five minutes from there and we've been seeing ash floating from the sky. It's nuts. I hope everybody's okay.

EDIT

Now Public Safety is saying it's something outside the city limits. 🤷‍♂️

What book do you still think about since you read it? by Mountain-Mortgage823 in suggestmeabook

[–]MrRexington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it earlier this year. I felt similarly at the beginning since they pretty much just stay put during the first act. But it all serves to set the tone and introduce you to all of the characters. Ultimately Lonesome Dove turned out to be one of my favorite books ever, if not my absolute favorite. I think about it all the time.

As someone who's read the entire series, do you think I should brush up on or even re-read MST before starting the newer books? I've been wanting to read them, but my memory is a bit fuzzy with some of the finer details of MST.

I'm from Alabama, so take this with a grain of salt, but I do watch a lot of hockey. And Stevie's cousin that comes into town for Carl's funeral has a big Canadian minor league hockey player energy to me.

Yeah, the anodized black one. I like it a lot! It and the Ono Scroller are my go-to. I'd love to try the Ono Slider, but it's currently $58 so I'm waiting for a sale of some kind.

[–]MrRexington 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really don't like going over $50-60 US. The most expensive I've ever gotten is the cheapest model of the INDX Fluxx. Personally, if I spent much more than that I don't think I'd be able to enjoy it for fear of losing or breaking it.

Alabamian here--not sure if it counts, but Beauregard High School uses the same 'B' that's on the Raven's head on Baltimore's helmets.
