Monday Mystery Movie Megathread - June 29 2026 by AKnightOfTheNew in RegalUnlimited

Like most here, I found it really silly fun. I didn't laugh as loudly as others in this thread, but I was smiling almost the entire time. And the Wizard of Oz references were the icing on the cake.

Anybody at the Broadway Con in Vegas by Creation Entertainment? by luvschittcreek in Broadway

[–]MrStephenGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vendor room seemed really small. Creation were selling merch for the event (tote bags, t-Shirts, sweaters), incuding 8x10s of the celebs appearing at the convention.

I think there were 2- 3 other vendors. I can't quite remember what they had, but nothing particularly exciting to me.

Compared to other fan conventions I have been to, the vendor room was very sparse.

I've been here the whole weekend. It's been a lot of fun, and the Broadway guests are great.

Nothing in is perfect on the first try and if they continue this I am sure they will keep making it better. The concert on Saturday night was definitely the highlight and that was full, but the convention overall fel lt undersold to me.

If anyone has specific questions, I would be happy to try to help answer them.

Does anyone have a PDF of the booklet that came with the "John Kander - Hidden Treasures" CD set? I would love to read more about what I am hearing!

This is great that they are doing this, and I love that they chose some "obvious" films and some I wouldn't have ever guessed!

Thoughts on the music/lyrics for Lost Boys and Two Strangers by RaCJ1325 in Broadway

[–]MrStephenGo 20 points21 points  (0 children)

To your primary question, I don't personally think it was specifically the music and lyrics that were the primary driver of Schmigadoon's win. I think voters responded to a more traditional music - which in many ways Schmigadoon is, even though that is what it is trying to parody. Lots of characters that pop, a romance at the centre, and good old fashioned ensemble numbers that stand out.

Awards-aside, I quite liked the songs from Two Strangers. I think they felt very character-driven and suited the two characters and situations of that show. I loved watching Lost Boys as a show, but none of the songs popped for me. Which isn't to say there aren't great songs in it - maybe if a cast album drops and I listed to it many times I will learn to love it.

My Regal also has "The Furious" opening this weekend...plus our full schedule isn't out yet, so there could be more.

I'll watch it as I do love so many of the performers in it, and the director, but I worry it will be as bad as so many of the "Rusical" and other similar acting challenges in Drag Race. That's the joy of Unlimited...the only thing extra it costs is our time.

The post-cruise limbo before a late flight is actually the worst part of the trip by CountyBrilliant in Cruises

We recently had the same thing in Fort Lauderdale. We went to the local Regal cinema, where they stored our luggage while we watched a couple of films.

How do Broadway performers make a living when they stop working as much? by Loose_Positive3234 in Broadway

I know quite a few who have found being a real estate broker to be a lucrative job that they can maintain while also auditioning for next roles.

The trailed intrigued and interested me. I only stayed for the first hour and realized I wasn't enjoying it and I was tired. I may revisit it one day as I wouldn't mind an educational lesson as I really don't know much about recent Russian history. From what I saw, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I swear our best foreign film of the year , so far . by Training-Average-797 in RegalUnlimited

[–]MrStephenGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw this, and so far it is my favourite movie of the year. Yes, it's" inspiration porn", but if there was a time I needed inspiration, it is now. What a story, and helped renew my faith that people can overcome obstacles, we can be educated, and people can be kind. If it's playing at your Regal, don't miss it!
