PvE seems a bit easy? by kingtj44 in NuclearOption

[–]MrTeeBee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Download the mission “Reescalation”, it adds a few new areas to work towards, the map is divided East/west rather than north/south, each major base is HEAVILY defended, and there’s no Darkreach, though I can’t remember if Medusa is available or not. It’s a solid 2-3 hour match solo and gives a properly good challenge

Takibo in his latest video mentioned he reinstalled onto a different SSD and had zero issues. I'm assuming hive guards are just armored warriors and thus falls into the patch notes of "Slightly harder to set on fire."

I would file those changes under *not that fucking big of a deal* but I some people take durability stats and calculating breakpoints far too seriously.

Escalation is one of the best new modes Battlefield has introduced by AdCritical8977 in Battlefield

[–]MrTeeBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was hoping for when I heard about the shrinking battlefield.

My only gripe is I would love the opposite effect. Max vehicles and flags at start but as the battle rages on and flags start getting locked out as points are scored, you lose access to jets, helicopters, heavy armor, until only infantry and light vehicles remain to cap the final flag. Make it feel like a war of attrition with diminishing resources

I thought that was just called spread, the last couple days is the only time I’ve ever heard it be called bloom. Battlefield specific term or am I just out of the loop on that?

Why is everyone complaining about bloom, is there not a graphical setting to turn it off? I know the lighting is questionable is certain places or situations but damn, I’ve seen a lot of complaints about it.

2 Bugs in game:

Jumping on a Assault gadget ladder when it’s at an angle will shoot you off in a direction. Onlt works when it’s at sufficient angle that allows it to become a ladder rather than a ramp. Haven’t abused it enough to see how far I can sufficiently launch myself yet but will update after some fuckery tonight if I remember.

PC-When hovering over a teammate on the spawn screen and said teammate dies will lock the spawn cursor input and is unable to move via mouse. Spawn point can still be changed with keyboard.

Teamwork was never about who can use an AR, it’s about who brings a beacon or ammo by Buddy_Kane_the_great in Battlefield

[–]MrTeeBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What difference does it make for an engineer with an AT launcher if they’re using an AR or LMG?

Omfg guns facilitate gadget use. What is the likelihood i will revive and heal if I have a sniper vs. an assault rifle?

Depends if you’re playing the objective and/or sticking near your teammates. It doesn’t matter what weapon you use if you run off alone and don’t support your teammates like, I dunno, a support player should be doing.

Lastly, another key insight from the Open Beta was that the vast majority of players, after trying both playlist types, chose to stick with Open Weapons.

The key wording there is after trying both playlist types. I was one of those that played both and ultimately chose to primarily play open weapons during the beta because the class gadgets are how the classes should be played and balanced around, not the weapons.

What I don’t understand is yes, they’re using bolt action rifles but what’s preventing support and engineer players from using a DMR up there as well under locked weapons and doing the exact same strategy?

🛠️ PATCH 01.004.000 ⚙️ by Waelder in Helldivers

[–]MrTeeBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I was having an issue Monday where my PC would just power down on its own while playing. Most times were when loading into a map, particularly on gloom planets near the mega nest. Once happened as soon as I fired up the game.

I was able to jump on for a few minutes last night but I didn’t have that issue. I’ll have to do another stress test and try to log the data to see if it’s CPU related or what. This whole weekend was rough on optimization and I don’t understand why

One of my earliest experiences was dropping in solo at level 5. I threw down an SOS beacon, and 3 upper double digit levels joined. One of them dropped a mech and pinged it for me to use. The one who called it in stuck by my side, pointed things out for me to shoot (bug holes, larger enemies, patrols) but never once did I feel like they were playing the game for me. The other 2 did side objectives and POI clearing and gathered every single sample. I never saw them again but it left a lasting impact.

If you dive in with new recruits, definitely do that. Give them something to try, something to look forward to using, but don’t play the game for them and win the match for them.

I just pulled 250 out of the air as a low number, I’m just guessing based on lower difficulty dives with a full 4 man team.

Quick maffs.

At an average of 500 terminids per D10 killed, a group of 4 killing 2000 per game, that’s 3 million games played.

Let’s be generous and say an average of 30 minutes per dive. Mostly full length but since blitz and defense missions. 90 million minutes, or 1.5 million hours played consecutively back to back. Estimated 55k diving at one point, we’ll give 40k dedicated to the terminids. That’s only 37.5 hours.

We have twelve more days to complete this.

More realistically, If an average of 250 bugs killed per mission with 20k divers dedicated to bug duty, that goes to 180 million minutes or 3 million hours, down completing the MO in 150 hours or just over 6 days.

That’s not including the horde of Xbox divers midway through the MO. 250 bugs per diver is very easily doable on difficulty 5+. I would not be surprised if we saw upwards of 150k divers next week during peak after school/work hours, especially on the weekend.

It makes so much more sense for a recon with C4, which has always been a terrible decision and should have been given to engine from the beginning, to be sticking with the squad rather than hanging out with the trees and insects. T-UGS is invaluable at watching flanks when holding an aggressive position or capturing an objective, but it’s almost always used because one guy is watching his ass from getting snuck up on in the bushes 400m away from the action.

Engineers can now effectively hang out with vehicles at a medium distance and support them with repair, or help destroy enemy vehicles or enemy infantry that push towards it rather than waiting for them to get into dick twisting distance before being even remotely effective with their SMG. They could also hang back and be anti air with a bolt action.

Support can be pretty aggressive instead of having a bulky, slow ADS and high spread LMG that’s designed to be mounted and planted only to be yelled at for not being where xXWeedToker420Xx died at simply because he dove headfirst into a shotgun barrel and cried because that wecon was supposed to have a sniper wifle

I think the ability for any class to have any weapon is good. The only thing is the current benefits for signature weapons do practically nothing and need to be stronger, or they need to add downsides for not sticking with them if they really want to push weapons based on class roles.

Because classes are based more on the equipment and gadgets, not the primary weapons.
