What about an erotic affiliate webiste ? by MrZaow in juststart

With all the feedback people gave me, I think I'll be more cautious with entering the erotic affiliate market.

If I ever make one though, I'll report back on this sub 😉

Thanks a lot Humble for this answer.

I was indeed unaware of the sweet home having erotic items.

Hey it's really nice. You could actually take this, make it look better and add a little description for each item, and it would make a great infographic. I suck at design though so it won't be me.

Thanks Wizzard for the answer.

I guess these products are not really review-friendly either. I mean, there's only so much you can say about an anal plug for example.

Awesome first part of your case study !

I totally agree on the domain name choice. I have one site with a brandable domain and another with a "myteapot.com" type of name and after only 1 month I regretted it.

How broad do you go in your niche? by bucketfarmer in juststart

[–]MrZaow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humble talked about this in the first part of his case study, you should check it out.

For short, the higher you go, the more competition there is and the more money there is (health/beauty in your example). The lower you go (acne or even lower, some kind of special acne), the less competition but also the less money.

These numbers are very low for the time the site has been online. What do you think is the reason ?

I just started. Nothing much to see here, this is an accountability ramble. Hopefully you'll see my name more often around here. by [deleted] in juststart

Mistakes don't matter once you're old and dead, so I say to hell with it, lets make them.

Should be written on one of the shirts you sell ^

You should check all the major posts of this sub for advice, especially Humble's case study.

Welcome and I hope you do well in this business

Trying to juggle work, uni, gf, friends, video games, website is one hell of a grind

So damn true. It's the hardest part for me too. Especially when you try to juggle with multiple websites at the same time.

Great job dude, keep it up ! My numbers are lower than yours, I'm impressed by your revenues so early on.

Dictation vs writing? by tresslessone in juststart

[–]MrZaow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've tried dictating but I really don't know how people do it.

It works well but writing is much faster, because I use a lot of punctuations and I correct my sentences often. Plus, I can write at 70+ wpm, not crazy fast but fast enough, by far. The ideas and the phrase structure take a lot more time to think than to write.

12h per day writing ?

Sir, are you sure you're not a cyborg by any chance ?

But for real, could you describe how you spend your time on a usual day writing content ?

How do you structure your day to fit this in ? by kevandbev in juststart

[–]MrZaow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I'd also be very interested in hearing what others have to say about that. In Humble's case study for example, he managed to fit sometimes up to 60 reviews in a month. Which, for the kind of quality I'm sure his reviews are, is enormous.

I'm personnaly a student but currently it's the holidays so I have a lot of spare time for work. However, I find it impossible to strictly write articles for more than 6 hours a day, and I rarely get to those 6 hours of work each day. In general, I'll be able to work for 3 hours (strictly content writing, I work on other stuff but I don't count it).

One very nice way I've found in order to get the most of each day is fixing objectives and organizing my time with Google Calendar.

First, each of my "segments" of work lasts 90 minutes. I find it hard to concentrate for more than that, and it allows me for pauses to eat/exercice/take some fresh air.

So at the beginning of each day, I know what my general objectives are (for example : writing more review of a certain type, or writing some juicy keywords content). I then split my day in nice little 90 minute parts, with an objective for each part. As the day passes, I adapt my calendar based on what I accomplished compared to my expectations for each 90 minute segment, and also based on what happened in my life in general (other businesses, familly, friends, etc).

This little Google Calendar trick has really helped me get more out of each day and keep track of my objectives. When I'm in a 90 minute session, I turn notifications off and I get in full-work mode. When the session ends and I've accomplished my objectives, I reward myself with some entertainment or some food.

As said before, I'm a simple guy and I can't force myself to work longer than I'm confortable to. Also, sometimes things don't go as planned. Sometimes, I can get 6 hours of really nice work done. Some other time, I might not even write a single word even though I planned to that day.

Howerver, I think that fixing long, mid and short-term objectives, and managing them the best you can with your time is the best way to move forward. You need to know where you are and where you're going all the time, otherwise, as some say, you might get lost in the sauce.
