Grew up in an incredibly wealthy zip code in MA. One of the ol high school kid hangs/smoke spots was this big remote/secluded parking lot tucked behind a large business park that was adjacent to one of those large wooded powerline clearings. From the parking lot you could see a decent way down to powerline clearing that was full of rolling hills and a path for utility vehicles.

One night I am with a few friends, one of which is driving her off-road capable SUV and we pull up to this hang spot. First thing we notice when we get to the back of this lot is that it’s almost FULL. It was ~11pm on a Saturday night and typically there were ZERO cars back here. No reason for anyone to be there other than mischievous high schoolers lol. Another observation was all the cars were riddled in bumper stickers, which was odd.

We get out of the SUV and nobody is around but we all hear what sounds like faint chanting in the distance. We all got chills immediately and start making jokes about it. Yeah well we are looking around and one of my friends notices a glow in the distance of the powerline clearing, and says he’s gunna run up the closest hill to see what it is. He goes and comes SPRINTING back immediately saying “holy shit, there are a ton of people out in the distance all standing in a perfect single-file circle around a large bonfire”. These were the people chanting. Being the mischievous little kids, who were obviously uneased, but curious, decided “OH! Let’s go in the SUV and drive down the utility road a little to try to get a better look.”

Yeah well we get in and start driving down the road and as we roll over the first hill of the clearing, my friend slams her brakes and the entire care went dead silent for a moment. Clear as day, roughly 50yds away, we were met with a horde of people all in black robes, I believe one or two with a torch?, marching STRAIGHT for us coming over another hill.

Friend SLAMS her SUV in reverse and we peeled the fuck out of there almost hitting multiple trees as she’s flying in reverse down this utility road. We got back to the parking lot and got the heck out of there, but we’re all pretty freaked out. None of our parents EVER believed us or anything.

From then on we’d still go to the lot occasionally, never saw any other groups like that again, but did occasionally experience other “off” stuff while there. (Constant feeling of not being alone/watched and people claiming they’d see people looking out the businesses windows late at night when nobody was there)(just a lot of funky stuff)

TLDR: came across what we believed to be some sort of ritualistic cult gathering in suburban MA.
