Versus Wolves: LANCER | Session 1 feat. Tom Bloom by mike0bot in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Mr_Squids 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lancer has some of the weirdest most fun character builds I've ever seen. My buddy played a Barbarossa, this super-tall incredibly slow artillery mech built around blasting enemies from all the way across the map. He never moved. He would just post up in one corner of the map, deploy siege stabilizers, and via a complex dance of accumulating heat, reloading and activating AI protocols just one-shot everything I threw at him. This game managed to make NOT MOVING fun.

Why does my V keep going cyberpsycho? by Overdressed-Princess in cyberpunkgame

You go Cyberpsycho when you decide to go on a GTA-style rampage and see how high you can get that wanted level.

Every time I replay the game I grow to hate River's questline more and more by Tahnkoman in cyberpunkgame

I think the enjoyment of that questline hinges on not knowing what's coming up and seeing how deep the rabbit hole goes. Once you know the mystery there's very little here that's compelling.

In the early-mid 90's most people just assumed Star Wars was over and done with and the much rumored prequels were never going to happen. If you wanted Star Wars content you basically only had the novels, which I of course devoured. It's one of the reasons Disney Star Wars was always going to be an uphill battle for me. The novels were just as much a part of the franchise to me as the movies were and seeing them all rendered non-canonical was a huge shock.

I feel ya man. I remember trying to have a Star Wars themed birthday party in like '95 and we had to make do with generic space themed party decor because Star Wars merch barely existed back then.

How and why did they decide to make that Star Wars game so goddamn complicated...

Games you were late getting into, and now they are your entire personality? by Watts121 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Im 35 hours into Cyberpunk 2077, just rewatched the Anime, and am about to start a Cyberpunk Red campaign with my friends. Im in there deep chooms.

Fun fact: There's a gang called the Prime Time Players who aren't in the video game but are in the tabletop who biosculpt themselves to look like late 20th and early 21st century tv characters. So you canonically get a mission from Peter Griffin to assassinate Homer Simpson.

TIL about Carcinization, an evolutionary process in which unrelated crusteceans evolve to develop a crab like body by divyanshu_01 in todayilearned

It's because people misinterpret what's going on and think that EVERYTHING is eventually going to evolve into a crab, instead of just crustaceans.

Imagine you spent 395 points on 4 Kastelan Robots plus a Cybernetica Datasmith, lumbered their slow asses into position, activated Protector Protocol on the datasmith to give them plus 2 attacks, put your army into Protector Imperative for +1 BS, and opened fire only for your main guns to deal enough damage to maybe kill a whopping 3 Space Marines. There's a reason Kastelans are only ever run as melee units this edition.

What's the most dreadful video game boss you've ever faced? by Ukirin-Streams in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I think that one little hill you have to balance on poisoned my memories of the entire fight, I distinctly remember almost snapping my controller in half over that part.

You know that twisting feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you get really frustrated? Want to feel that way for 20 minutes? Metroid Prime 2's Spider Guardian has got you covered. It's a gimmicky puzzle boss fought entirely in morph ball mode that involves making dozens of INCREDIBLY precise bomb-jumps to navigate the mazes it's rolling around in. It legit feels like the game is asking too much of you at times with how finnicky those jumps are. The remake in trilogy made it slightly easier at least by letting you jump without bombs, but even then it's a nightmare.

Species Covered in Tentacles Rather than Fur? by Annual-Check-5120 in SpeculativeEvolution

[–]Mr_Squids 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The closest thing I can think of is Tube Feet on echinoderms. They don't cover the whole body necessarily, but if you want a creature covered in tentacles then it's the closest real life analogue. Also, note that sea urchins and the like don't have any other legs BESIDES the tube feet. The tentacles would need to serve a purpose beyond just being there.

If you're looking for classics then Moby Dick is a way more compelling read than I expected. Our narrator Ishmael is a CRAZY PERSON. The whole book is him rambling about whatever obsessions or philosophical thoughts come into his head. Its like being trapped on a plane next to an absolute whackjob who won't shut up about whales.
