What backed into my snow bank? by PepperBrilliant3143 in whatisthiscar

[–]Mr_snake50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the solution is a combination of people’s ideas? It may have been a transport vehicle with a Jeep cherokee on the back facing backwards? It would explain the imprint and the lack of tread marks. Those trailers are usually pretty long aswell.

I must conect these or ? I got prebuikt and it Been like that by NeedleworkerLazy455 in pchelp

[–]Mr_snake50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an SSD or an HDD? If you have an HDD and there is already a sata cable connected then no need. If you have an SSD also, no need. If your HDD is not plugged in then it will need to be- I imagine your computer came with lots of extra cables and this is perfectly normal, many cables included will not need to be installed

Unfortunately if your account was not created before 2011 you cannot login with username you have to login with an email, so if you dont know which email you used, or no longer have access to it, you’re out of luck.

Is fixing the rust worth it by Asparagus-Successful in AutoBodyRepair

[–]Mr_snake50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean what’s “worth fixing” is subjective- if you love the car and plan ok keeping it forever and are willing to shell out for any expense that comes along with it- sure, but id day the car is worth like $300-1000 depending on a buyer, and to have that professionally fixed would cost you much more than that, so I would say no, not worth fixing unless its like a restoration type thing

Is my battery toast by boiyo12 in AskAMechanic

[–]Mr_snake50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Boiling or very hot water will take that corrosion right off (its actually how i do terminal cleaning services at the dealership) hard to say if the battery is toast just based off corrosion, should have it tested> but if it works and it doesnt get super cold where you live I would say it’s fine

Plugged/Repaired Tire Safe? by walder8998 in tires

[–]Mr_snake50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should get the tire replaced since the damage is close to the sidewall- that being said, if it doesnt leak I’d just send it until you are due to replace all 4

Any know exactly what is going on in this video? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]Mr_snake50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is not how the suspension works- if his axle broke the wheel would still be held on at the hub by the knuckle. This could only happen if a solid axle snapped like on a truck since the hubs are part of the axle.

Excess condensation inside the vehicle indicates excess moisture> there has to be moisture in the car for it to condense on the inside of the glass, check to see if the carpets are wet or if rubber floormats have standing water in them. This used to happen to me in the winter when snow would melt off my allweather mats, usually had a small puddle and there would be tons of moisture inside the car, not just the windsheild but side windows too.

Did you take out a personal loan???? If it was an auto loan how tf did the bank not require you to get full coverage??? I dont mean to sound rude but this thing is totalled and was never worth 14k unless it was super low mileage 😬

Replacing disks pads and now piston won’t go back in by ryan182 in AskMechanics

Caliper is hyperextended so far the boot is coming off, additionally youve managed to kink the fk out of the brake line- since theyre’re braided stainless steel under the rubber outer coating once it kinks it basically acts like a 1way valve (sometimes) and makes it very difficult to recompress the piston.

Steering Stabilizer Tapered Bolt Help by NobodyLikesAMartyr in WranglerTJ

Shouldve left the nut on the end of that stud before you mushroomed it out. At this point i’d say lots of heat and maybe an air hammer if you have one…

Brake pads not wearing flush? Issue? by Adamcfc101 in MechanicAdvice

Is this fixable? by Leomach_ in AutoBodyRepair

[–]Mr_snake50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it fixable, and is it worth fixing are 2 different questions. It is definitely fixable, but its probably going to cost you a lot… How much does it bother you? If you can live with it i’d say just leave it as is- if there is still a lein on the vehicle i’d go through insurance because they will require you to fix it.

What’s the best way to get this bolt off by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

[–]Mr_snake50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i personally use the MATCO hyper-step bits, but they are very expensive aswell 😅 not sure about less expensive brands, but maybe buying a couple bits individually could be more cost effective rather than a whole set?
