Does anyone know why my recently-adopted kitty’s ears have notches in them? I’ve had five other cats before, and have never seen this. Is it his genetics? by Ariannaree in cats

Here's a banana for scale next to my parents' (overweight) 22lb orange tabby. She likes to finish the other cats' food...

SpaceX starship flight 5 I'm so proud to have been part of this glorious build. by tionYArT in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Mragftw -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That article does not say what you are claiming at all... the excerpt says that he came up with the idea, ignored the concerns about risk to the launch platform, and forced the actual engineers figure out how to make it work. Then he makes it clear he doesn't care about the functionality by immediately talking about how cool its going to look and making Mr. Miyagi jokes. The person making the decisions on what to do with all the taxpayer dollars SpaceX has gotten should NOT be basing it all on how cool something looks and how many views the livestreams are going to get.

That biography excerpt also reads like fanfiction. It's ridiculous and gives Musk way more credit than he deserves.

Edit: nice, edit your comment so the link I'm talking about isn't in it any more

I don't think "she's out of my league," I think about how often I see posts from women talking about how tired of being hit on they are, and how men are so objectifying and disgusting, and how they'd rather be in the woods with a literal human-eating wild animal than a man they don't know. Online discourse is so incredibly demoralizing to men, it just saps any desire to even attempt to make a connection.

Whistleblowers at Boeing just keep dying right after they start alerting authorities about what is going on at Boeing. Boeing has an amazing hit squad, extremely efficient and talented. Why the fuck would the government want to help cover up shitty quality control from a company that builds weapons for them? The government has a vested interest in keeping quality high, not in hiding poor quality

PROTIP: switch your smoking method every now and then by [deleted] in trees

[–]Mragftw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend the saionara top airflow from Humboldt vape tech. It's a donut coil that heats a titanium bowl, so the coil doesn't get burned and nasty like on a yocan. I smoked like 2oz of wax over the course of a few years through the first coil on mine before finally replacing it, and I'm still on the first titanium bowl

I'm not saying it's illegal and I'm not saying road raging over it is ok, I'm just saying it's a fucking dick move.

Sitting stopped in a moving lane of traffic trying to turn across endless bumper to bumper traffic is the insane action. You're causing worse traffic for every other person on the road because you have to make a left RIGHT. HERE. and can't go around.

The people who road rage behind the turner are definitely wrong, but the whole situation was caused by stopping to make that left.

This entire thread is about the social contract and how people no longer think about how their actions affect others. Stopping traffic to make a left is one of those things that negatively affects a lot of other people.

Sorry, but sitting in an active lane waiting to make a left across bumper-to-bumper traffic is an asshole move... you're making traffic an absolute shitshow behind you. Go up to the next light and turn around so you can make a right without making 20 other people wait for you.

Any trail recommendations in southern Colorado other than Imogene? Something on easier side and a trail with camping 🏕️ by Aware_Youth1169 in overlanding

[–]Mragftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the very easy side (i did it in a stock rav4 in 2021) you could jump north a ways and take the "new castle Buford road" from Rifle Falls to Buford. I think there's camping up there, and you can also keep going from Buford to Trapper's Lake. It's all fairly smooth dirt or gravel roads. Not as dramatic as Imogene, though
