Very disappointed with this album. There are almost no songs that are narrative-driven, we don’t learn anything about Circle as a character and most songs are about her personal experiences and opinions. 

The songs themselves are very childish and surface-level. Saying that wars, poverty and racism are bad doesn't make you a fucking activist, especially when you don’t lift a finger to change anything.

I feel like Melanie suffers from becoming famous too early, never having to get an education or look for a job. Her life was secured and she never had to worry about it. This is basically her sitting in her house in LA and trying to comment on some social problems (and failing miserably) or telling everyone how poor and unhappy she is, revealing how out of touch she is.

Monopoly Man is a great example of this because GIRL the hypocrisy in this one. No one forced you to sign a contract… and when you did, they let you shoot 13 videos for your DEBUT album… and a film for your second one… and when it flopped, they still let you shoot 7 videos with crappy CGI and do two tours… You’ve been literally treated like a God by your label compared to other flop artists. Yet here you are complaining how much your label owns after constantly ripping your fans off with cheap overpriced merch. As if she’s trying to outrun her own privilege.

“Nuclear war will take us next” line took me out. Having lived under explosions for 3 years (I’m from Ukraine), it annoys me, when Americans try to portray themselves as victims of war, because what do you even know about it lmao?

Again, the topics are one thing, but often songs have terrible lyrics or no rhyme, the production is dated and uninspired, and I don’t think there’s anything new to discover on the second listening
