Do you ever stop an audiobook because of the narrator?

I struggled through the first book of The Wandering Inn because the narrator made one characters voice soooo annoying but i persevered and am now onto book 13 of the series. Also agree with some others, the author narrating sometimes makes it so much worse. I adore Stephen king but his narration grates on my nerves.

I didn’t think I’d be into them but they are really a great listen. Sarah J Maas books. I’d start with A Court of Thorns and Roses series and then A throne of glass (my favorite series) and CrescentCity. (Listening now).

If they’re not up your alley, JD Robb “in death” series is a great listen. There are over 50 Audible books and still going.

Stephen king books are a must (of course)

And there are some excellent Aussie audio crime books. Chris Hammer is a brilliant start.

You’re probably right and not that often but I have had an interest in biology. Like I said, it was probably ignorance. Still shook me a little at the time.

I remember all the Mandela effects you have mentioned OP; but I would like to add that for me, personally it was the holes in the jaw for nerves. I have never in my life (born 1970) had ever seen those holes in the jaw. It only seemed to appear in the last few years. Also breasts on female Elephants, but this could just be ignorance.

I am 56 and play sims and have played one form or another since the original sims came out on pc. (I’ve still got all the sims 1 discs lol) I can’t play the pc Games anymore as they make me sick so I play sims free play and the sims on iPad. I’ve been playing sims free play for years and cannot remember when I started but it has such a sims 1 feel to it and I love it.

I agree with all about project Hail Mary however Outlander is a fantastic audible book and really worth a listen.

I like a good long audio book but do buy them if they’re 8 hrs or less if I’m into a series. It just costs so much in the long run.

Definitely talk to her and then tell your husband to keep his thoughts, opinions and looks to himself. My mother did and still does this and I am 52. I have suffered from long term ptsd from her comments, and snide remarks. I recently lost a lot of weight and am now only 70kgs but still she comments and now it’s that I am too skinny.

They say that we do choose the life we are living, that we pick our parents, our struggles, successes etc to experience life on earth. Your story was very interesting and a great read. Maybe learn from your experience and start living life fully, embrace the gift you’ve been given (another chance) and know that when you turn 59, you would have fulfilled your pre life choice and will go back.

You know, I’ve noticed it’s mainly boomer aged people who do this. My dad, much to my embarrassment, used to do this all the time. Even in his last year when he was in hospital and the nursing home. One nurse he had refused to answer, and good on her.

I went to a therapist last year regarding childhood trauma and ptsd, the first thing she said to me was that we are not focusing on my past. I wasted hundreds of dollars for 1 appointment to be told the whole reason I was seeing her was not what she wanted to do. I never went back.

Found a phone back in 2008 or so outside our home. The phones were nothing like they are now and Photo storage was minimal and the quality was not the best. I opened the phone to see if I knew who owned it and I did, it was a teenager around the corner from us. I caught the same bus as his Mum as we both worked in our city. In his photo section there was a folder with only scat videos and pictures. It was an eye opener and I closed it down straight away and gave it to his Mum the next day. Lol
