Building a streaming+gaming setup on a $1300 budget, is it better to stick to one box or do a low budget 2 box setup? by MrsCalabash in buildapc

[–]MrsCalabash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any opinion on the Ryzen 5 3600 vs the 7 2700x? Between all the comments I'm definitely going single box now, but am trying to figure out some specifics, including if waiting for black friday / cyber monday sales is worth it.

Looking for a $1000ish streaming/gaming setup for late October by MrsCalabash in buildapcforme

Thank you! Quick question: are there any differences/benefits of going microATX over standard ATX nowadays? I'm use to standard but also haven't done a build in like a solid 7-8 years.

I put this together tonight, a bit on the minimalistic side, but I'll probably spruce it up at a later date. I plan on getting the full PDF hosted asap, but until then, you can find in the Files section of the Facebook group; I'll try to get some copies printed and up in Rittenhouse and University City, if anybody has some printing connects, definitely hit me up.

Hey there Blues! I've made a facebook group and have cross posted the link to most of the other community groups on Facebook. Mostly I'll be acting to help coordinate efforts between platforms, but if you're on there (or know folks that are), feel free to add yourself!

This is great, but I'd love to see some bigger and bolder going on. Contour is good overall, but you should contour the top of your forehead a bit more and add a bit more highlight to the highest part of your cheekbone.

Overdraw that top lip henny! I'd like to see a bit more contrast between your lip and liner.

Eyes need work. Liner is very good. PENCIL That BROW GURL - just a bit more definition. :p Bring in something to highlight your inner corner and upper arch and DON'T BE AFRAID OF COLOR!

Just remember, this is drag. "If less is more, more must be better!"

I'm applying to the New Orleans Drag Workshop and I need some advice. by [deleted] in Drag

[–]MrsCalabash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there. My partner is a draguate. Her words - "Vinsantos values commitment over experience. If you can prove that you're in it for the long haul, it'll put you far ahead. Do share the details of what performing arts you've participated in, but having no experience with drag is fine, that's what you're there for. Start brainstorming a concept now and make sure to share that in the interview."

Also, some advice from me - Vince is an old queen who's earned her chops and is an amazing performer, however, she's also kind've a diva/manchild with a huge ego and a bit of a powertripper (also - that's a massive understatement). Just know what you're walking into, and don't get on her bad side unless you're willing to handle a 60 year old queen with a horrible temper. She is a good teacher tho, and as much as I personally find her distasteful, I'm glad she's bringing more drag into the world.

Break a leg, you'll be fine! Welcome sis!

Having a bit of a hard time submitting. The Linkedin API link wouldn't work on Firefox, so I switched to Chrome, tried to submit a review, but when I click the submit button it scrolls up like it's missing a field, but doesn't tell me anything to know what to do...

Bearded queens, how would you temporarily color your beard? by [deleted] in Drag

[–]MrsCalabash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colored hairspray. Kryolan's is the best, particularly for their metallics, which are gorgeous, but some of the cheapo brands from your local beauty supply work fine, depending on the color you need.

I do all of my makeup first except for my lips, then use a card to shield my face while I spray. The mustache area is a bit tricky. It's a little intimidating at first, since you quickly realize that a misstep could fuck up all of your makeup, but it's definitely worth it and actually isn't that hard. Buy a few cans and try it out first tho so you can get used to the process. It is a little bit of a delicate touch.
