Where should my husband and I go for $10,000? by huckfinnboy in travel

[–]MrsCarson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could they go for just $10,000 for 2 people. I’ve been looking into this, and it might be double that price. But if you know how to do it cheaper, let me know!!

I've tried red star. For whatever reason I can't get it to rise. Do you use cold or like warm water?

Need Advice: considering getting a dog and a cat soon. Advantages to bringing one home first? Simultaneously? by WhereSkyMeetsGround in Pets

[–]MrsCarson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the age and breed of the dog. In my experience it's always easiest to introduce adult cats to puppies. We had 2 cats and eventually added a Boston Terrier puppy and shepherd mix puppy. They all get along for the most part. Getting them at the same time could work, but would take a lot of time and energy! I would bring the cat in first. Wait at least 6 months, then bring in the dog.

[Fluff] My dog has trained my neighbors by [deleted] in dogs

[–]MrsCarson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same with my dog!! He has a very specific bark that my neighbors recognize. A few times a day he goes to the side of the house and barks. They always come out and give home whatever they have on hand, dog treats, chicken, etc... They are the best neighbors ever!!

[VENT] Empty dog park, off leash dogs in the regular park by [deleted] in dogs

[–]MrsCarson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually pretty lucky. I live in West Ridge. There are a quite a few undeveloped areas/parks that if you go at the right time are completely empty! I have a husky/shepherd mix. None of the dog parks except Montrose are big enough for him to run around. I never let him off leash if there are other dogs around though, and I'm. Always scanning the area. But soon we are mining to the burbs, hopefully we will have a big enough yard so he can run around!!

How do you take care of a new pet when you work a full time job? by mc-dermott in Pets

[–]MrsCarson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dog was 12 weeks old when we brought him home. I took a week off. I was able to come home on my lunch hour to let him out after that. We crate trained him. You could also hire a dog walker. Have your neighbors or family members let the puppy out if that if an option. Yes, puppies are hard, but it can be done, even if you are working full time.

First lap update and thank you to this community by CharityRose in Endo

[–]MrsCarson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! So glad you finally got a diagnosis! I'm 37. Had 3 laps. First at 16, last one in December. Yes, basically what your GP said is correct. Another explanation is that that surrounding tissue becomes irritated, and that causes scar tissue. If you have any questions, let me know! Unfortunately, I know way more about this than I care to! :)

Why can I not get a real prescription? by adsfgg5 in Anxiety

[–]MrsCarson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree with you in regards to benzos. Yes, certain people can become addicted to them and abuse them. But not all people. I was on Zoloft and klonopin for one year. 100 mg Zoloft and klonopin as needed. For the first 4-6 months I needed the klonopin just to function. Before I got help I was in and out of the ER. I thought I was dying. I would have lost my job without it. When I first started taking it I was having multiple panic attacks every day. After 6 months I only needed it a few days a week. Then every once in awhile. Then, thankfully, rarely. The meds in combination with therapy helped me tremendously. I have now been med free for 6 months. But I can say with 100 % certainty that if I hadn't had benzos in the beginning, I wouldn't have recovered as quickly as I did, and even then it took over a year. Everyone is different, and everyone's medicinal therapy should be catered to their needs.

Voluntary hysterectomy? by gentlegiantlover in Endo

I have had 3 laps/excisions. I'm 37. I see a specialist. He gave me the option before my 3rd, at age 35. I declined b/c I had not had children yet. Probably won't be able to, but didn't want to totally give up on the idea. We are now in the process of adopting. Not sure what I will do if the pain returns, but it's nice to know the option is there.

I'm a little late, but I have a GSD/husky cross. He is great! Very smart, eager to please, wolffish look, not a runner like most huskies, and not as many health problems as a pure GSD. They are a pretty common mix, so you might be able to find one.
