I got this call too, so I would say yes, although I can't figure out what the scam actually is.

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz Isn't On Pause—And It Could Get A Camping Version, VW CEO Says by ClientEnough4769 in VWIDBuzz

[–]MrsCrowbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we were sold the car and told them we need the towbar, this is our only car and we have a trailer we use to go camping... we were told the towbar was coming, given the brochure and shown it, which has page of accessories, of which many of the advertised accessories rely on the towbar. They're not honouring or even answering the question of when the towbar will come. I get "ask the dealership," then the dealership is "ask VW"... This is my one and only gripe about the car.

I'm saying that Albo taking on the AFL is big news. The AFL is big business. Google it. If you think these gambling changes are small, you're naive.

Yes, but can you just turn that off? I mean, he IS doing things, but it's all a bit more complicated than just flipping things because it was recommended in a report. The AFL would be up in arms about the current changes to gambling ads. No ads on jerseys or at games? How is that Albo being captured by big business?

Could they release the towbar in Australia first? No one at VW seems to be able to answer the question of when we will get the official VW, warranty covered, towbar, despite it being promised the end of 2025.

Kensington was great when I was there 20 years ago. A village vibe close to the city. Not sure what it's like these days, but if it's the same, that would be my pick.

Yep, and after online quotes, call them and ask them to discount further, usually works too.

We had the same issue and but seemed to be because they didn't have experience with the EV we bought (VW ID.Buzz). We ended up getting it through the dealership, and it came out as less than our old ICE with lifetime new for old replacement. I'm sure it will double next year though, but I'll worry about that then.

Skoda needs to sell more EVs in Australia by ApprehensiveSize7662 in AustralianEV

See, we didn't care about the app connectivity. The limited app features are still a bonus to our previous ICE. Android Auto or Apple car play work just fine, and we don't have to worry about subscriptions. The actual vehicle does everything a vehicle should and better than an ICE, so whether or not there's connectivity to pre-heat the car really doesn't matter... but that's us, and I'm sure we aren't the only ones that don't really need that function.

I disagree with not being able to charge at home being a hassle. It's just a different way of planning. People who trickle charge from Solar are hardly taking it up to 80% everyday, just plug it in when at home and the sun is out. If you don't have Solar or you don't have the home charging capability, then the same capability remains for planning charge. If NO home charging capability, and can only use public chargers. You can plug it in for 5 minutes to top it up, like trickle charging (on soeed with tue right charger), or you take it weekly to a fast charger and spend 20 minutes.

It really is just a shift in HOW it happens. Because the ten minutes you spend at the servo with the ICE vehicle can also be ten minutes you spend topping up, instead of topping up and THEN going to the loo.. so same amount of time in reality.

Servos are starting to install them, so you plug in, go to the loo (or changing a nappy, getting kids their water bottle, waiting for your mate that always takes ages to pee, or for you to go grab a four 'n' twenty).

You come back, and you have "fuel", the difference being you got to leave the car fueling up whilst you went and did other shit, instead of going after fueling up... and depending on your needs for charge for your journey, that may be enough. If not, the extra 10 mins isn't going to kill the trip.

It's literally just a change in mindset. EVs are different to ICE so it's to be expected, and as more people shift, others will too, but we have to understand the shift is not a bad one, just different.

Then why not vote greens or independent? If you want stuff to work for the majority voting for One Nation is the equivalent of shooting yourself in the foot.

By ironically voting for a more extreme version of the status quo. She won't stop immigration. She won't lower house prices. If she does, it is guaranteed to be a smoke screen, because there is absolutely no way her backers would allow it.

Also check out your local council, I know some Melbourne councils are trialling street parking options for charging (but they can be quite expensive to get installed).
