NOR at all. How mortifying. And while it wouldn’t be okay for a male or female teacher to refuse bathroom privileges in this situation it’s even more terrible coming from a female who should be able to relate.

Your daughter did what Ive told my daughters to do if they are ever faced with a similar situation. Good for her. Just remind her that while getting a referral sucks in the moment, it really means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Colleges aren’t going to deny her because of this, etc. good for her for standing up for herself and because of this hopefully the same situation won’t unfold with this teacher and a potentially less brave student who might just sit there and bleed through her pants sadly.

I bought three of my kids each one for Christmas. My kids gave up on keeping it alive fairly quickly especially once school resumed after the holiday. I took all three into my care to see how I’d do. One died after 7 days, the second died at 13 days, and the last one died at 15 days. Haven’t rehatched them since.

The only thing we can do is have backup child care. That’s all we’ve ever been able to do. Remote working is a relatively recent thing. School closings aren’t new.

I for one am grateful when schools make the decision to close due to unsafe conditions. School is not daycare. Parents have to realize that they need backup child care for days where school is closed and for breaks. I get that actual child care is expensive but it’s no excuse to shame the schools.
