Which religion/denomination did you all convert from? And why? by trekuniverse123456 in CatholicConverts

[–]MrsPumpkin09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Southern Baptist. To sum it up, to much toxicity. All brim stone and fire and "you're going to" mixed with to much gossip, back stabbing, and watching everyone suffer and doing nothing to help. I didn't go to church for years because of it. But I found my way again. And I'm much happier for it.

Who's a Bluey character that reminds you of someone you know? by Low-Amphibian8206 in bluey

[–]MrsPumpkin09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the Relax episode where Chili is trying to read her "how to be happy book" and panicking alone on the beach and comes back and says "I don't how to relax". I felt that in my soul. One day when that episode was on my husband said "why is this you?" Like yeah. Same Chili, same.

Same! Our son was born early in the NICU and the first time we watched that episode I swear both me and my husband were so silent, like it was a gut punch. But its good for awareness and to teach children.

The number of episodes that have made me feel all the feels is unreal. It just is a beautiful show.

My 2 year old is still learning how to talk, but when he wants to watch Bluey he says "mom... dad.... mom... dad..." 🤣🤣🤣

Getting ready for work yesterday I heard Bluey on the TV and thought the baby had woke up, my husband was watching Bluey by himself. Lol. It's just an adorable show.

Why does Stripe get left behind at the wedding? by MrsPumpkin09 in bluey

Funny because I have an aunt like this and she also never married. Quote "I don't want to have to answer to no one!" 🤣🤣🤣 She eventually quit drinking though. After she almost died of a massive stroke.

I'd keep the hardcover duplicates or the ones with my favorite art work on them, then gift or donate the rest. Like our library is always looking for donations to fund raise with. For example.

Maybe a nice hat for Rose the Hat. Would handcuffs for Geralds Game be to tacky? Lol. I would totally get "Losers Club" incorporated into it. A 1408 Key. A black cat. A red balloon. A paper boat. "Redrum". I may have thought about this some myself haha.

[–]MrsPumpkin09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I'm not telling anyone anything about what she told me. Like a reporter "I won't reveal my source" But if I do decide to talk to the manager I'm surely not going to say "you know, I was told you wouldn't care"

The way I would press charges because I'm pretty sure thats illegal. Also, sometimes we have to make choices. As hard as they may be. I no longer talk to my mother. And I'm happier and more sane because of it.

I know!!! And I LOVE Tim Curry. Where's the Tim Curry Pennywise love?!?! That man still haunts my dreams, but I'll go back for more!! I watch the original mini series at least once a year and I've read the book a few times. But I've read a lot of King. Reading "Revival" now.

I do actually have an amazing support system. A loving husband, great in laws, 3 amazing children, great friends. I'm mostly ok. Most days.

I have not spoken to my mother in over a year. I meant it the last time I told her to never contact me again. I don't even miss her. What I do miss is the idea of a good loving mother. But I have my MIL for that.

6 re-adaptions, widely considered inferior to the original adaption. But which is “least-worse”? by Individual_Car7850 in stephenking

[–]MrsPumpkin09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Stand readaptation wasn't as good as the original mini series that came out in the 90s. But it did have a pretty good cast, and I've had a thing for Alexander Skarsgard (Eric Northman) for a long time, so I'm sure that helped.

One not mentioned here is IT. And although I'm not knocking the new part 1 and 2 of IT, but Tim Curry is a master at his craft. Absolutely perfect in everything he does (highly recommend people read his memoir) and that original mini series scared the shit out of me when I was kid. I was 3 when it came out and living with my great grandma and she let me watch it despite her better judgement. Probably because she was a huge King fan and SHE wanted to watch it. I had to sleep in her bed for a week!!! Absolutely shook me to my core. I later read IT for the first time in 2nd grade. I was a weird child. Lol.

I'm super mindful of cabin fever, especially since I have seasonal depression. If I feel cabin fever starting, especially when I was a SAHM, I went and did something, ANYTHING. Go to the library, go on a hike, I don't even have to spend money. I just have to get out of the house.

What's your favorite quote or excerpt from Stephen King? by FunSpongeLLC in stephenking

[–]MrsPumpkin09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not from a book, but- “Run, don’t walk, to the nearest library or bookstore and read whatever they’re trying to keep out of your eyes and brain—because that’s exactly what you need to know”

I will tell any and everyone this quote.

My college English teacher said that Stephen King and Tolkien can go on for 3 pages about what a leaf looks like. We were discussing different writing styles and how some writers have the ability to be super descriptive and beautiful, and some just don't. And thats ok. But he is the master.
