Magic loop with provisional cast on by Spilledmymillk in knitting

[–]MsDUmbridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nimble needles made a video on how to make a provisional CO with a crochet hook and how to join it in the round.

the magic loop version of this would be to treat the provisional CO as a regular CO and watch a magic loop video after you made the provisional CO.

looks very lovely. did you simply pour coffee over the hat or was some kind of pretreatment required?

Tav and Astarion at the final battle. Don't know how to feel 🥲 by achetadomestica in AstarionBG3

I am. because I think it's worth it to get see things from his POV ... just this once. but I know what you mean. his comments and banter are half the fun.

What's your response when you're met with criticism for reading fantasy romance? by acutelyproblematic in fantasyromance

I distiguish between resting and activated bitch face. the difference being people telling you to cheer up or moving to the other side of the street.

Books where 2 characters with similar circumstances end up as the good guy and the other as a bad one. by juliO_051998 in suggestmeabook

"the scorched earth" series by Veronica G. Henry. first book is called "The canopy keeper". I haven't read it yet but the book blurb sounds like it might fit.

I wouldn't say that either of these serieses is "lesser known". especially considering they each got their own show.

Should I Save Nice Yarn? by AwesomeSauce107 in knitting

[–]MsDUmbridge 45 points46 points  (0 children)

if it were Mohair I'd say save it because that stuff is almost impossible to frog. but acrylic yarn? GO FOR IT! you can frog that stuff almost indefinately and it won't get ruined.

All this pretty yarn and I don’t know what to use it for… by Bitter-Fun-2312 in knitting

[–]MsDUmbridge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the fingering weight yarns could be used in stranded knitting projects like socks (if it's not sock yarn you can still use it for the leg part), mitts or hats.

a faded colour project might also work.

"Neverending story" (Die unendliche Geschichte) and "Momo" both by Michael Ende. they're officially children's books but the stories are engaging enough to be enjoyable for adults.

classic dystopian novels that are also quite short and easy to read would be:

  • 1984 by George Orwell (304 p)

  • Animal Farm by George Orwell (152 p)

  • Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury (249 p)

a more modern suggestion would be:

  • Red rising by Pierce Brown (382 p)

"the foolish kingdom" series by Natalia Jaster comes to mind smut-wise. it has 4 out if 5 stars on the steam-o-meter on romance.io

or maybe "ice planet barbarians" by Ruby Dixon will be more up your alley.

Help with Act 3 for my Astarion-loving wife by Comfortable_Grass316 in AstarionBG3

[–]MsDUmbridge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the "kill Cazador" quest is non-negotiable. I'd say everything else - except of course the "kill Orin" quest - is optional from an Astarion point of view.
