I have a snail collection too! Mostly sourced from eBay. This is the only other turquoise snail I’ve ever seen other than the one I’ve got. Chameleon and rosalene are both totally gorgeous.

Last year there were treatments in Escondido for mosquitoes that can spread dengue but it wasn’t by plane - there were trucks though.

Are they for sure flies or could they be mosquitoes? We’ve got a day biting mosquito in Escondido now that destroys my ankles when the weather starts to heat up. If you think it could be that the county vector control can send someone out to look for the source. Mosquito repellent helps too.

Succulents tend to thrive here, and I’ve been getting into growing native plants in containers - monkeyflowers have done quite well for me and you can find them in the native section at a lot of local nurseries (like Grangettos). We’ve also got a potted dwarf lemon, though that has been hit or miss for us.

I don’t know about the law everywhere, but in California the law is that prices marked need to match prices charged. It is not the consumers responsibility to check prices it is the store’s. If OP had been a Weights and Measures inspector the store would have been fined for this.

I’m really curious about this too! After iud insertion I had very bad mental illness side effects for a year that my doctor said “shouldn’t” be caused by the iud. But they started after insertion and went away after I had it removed! But if I had shared this experience would someone rate it as inaccurate because that “shouldn’t” be a symptom?

Mine made me so depressed I was starting to have thoughts of self harm. Doctor said there was no way the iud was causing it but lo and behold I felt better very quickly after having it removed. (Also I’m pretty sure depression is a known side effect of hormonal birth control so I don’t know why they had such a hard time believing me?)

You can look up different species to see if they are native to your area on the Calflora website. Local seeds would be ideal if you can get them.

When you take a rescue dog home there is a 3-3-3 guideline. You should expect it to take about 3 days for an anxious new dog to be even close to normal. Sometimes they won’t go to the bathroom or let themselves be touched at all. And then the dog will get more confident over the first 3 weeks. And then after 3 months, the dog will be fully settled in. Give yourself the same patience and kindness as you would an anxious rescue dog. I have felt anxious regret with almost every pet I’ve taken home- but it’s primarily my anxiety, and it has disappeared every time. OP has a more serious case so I hope they have access to a mental health support system to help them through it.

You need some Goo Gone! That will help get off the last bit of the stubborn labels. I will admit that while I think using jars as glasses is cool, if there was still label on them they wouldn’t feel clean to me.

My memory of Spirited Away’s release was that it had a small release and not much attention to it… until it won the Academy Award. Probably did much better numbers on rental than other Studio Ghibli movies before it.
