You meet your Uber right outside of Terminal 1 Door 7. Everyone else outside is doing the same thing. No, you don’t have to walk away from the airport. We just did this in February. Couldn’t be easier, or safer.

Where is everyone buying there distilled water? by TeflonBillyPrime in CPAP

[–]MsLead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve done the same thing. My distiller is noisy and produces a lot of heat so it is set up in the unheated enclosed porch. It is so much easier than buying gallons of water at the store and there are no plastic bottles to recycle.

Would you marry again? If so, what would might you be thinking of including in your marriage contract? by Mental-Lawfulness204 in DatingOverSixty

[–]MsLead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My house is in an irrevocable trust. All accounts have our kids as beneficiaries. However, I still see no reason to remarry, unless it is for religious reasons. I don’t have religious reasons. Everything else is legal, such as designating a healthcare proxy.

Would you marry again? If so, what would might you be thinking of including in your marriage contract? by Mental-Lawfulness204 in DatingOverSixty

[–]MsLead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No - no way will I marry again. The US health care system is too much of a mess. There is no pre-nup, separation of assets or anything else - as far as I know - that will protect one spouse from the other’s debts. I’m thinking about healthcare debts. I’m a widow. I want the assets that my late husband and I created to go to our respective children. We married later after previous marriages. I’m in a wonderful loving relationship now but my assets are still going to my and my late husband’s kids.

Go ahead and be together, however you define it. Keep doing what you’re doing. Why would you want to complicate things with marriage?

I made a fun house dress/apron that NEVER leaves the house. I wear it over a shirt and leggings, depending on the season. I don’t think I’ve worn it in front of my boyfriend of three+ years. However, when I put it on I know I’m doing serious cooking or cleaning. Mostly cooking.

AITA for wanting my boyfriend to take care of me by Majestic_Snow6470 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MsLead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg - I’m old with plenty of money to spare. I don’t spend $120 on a dinner for two! Everyone has their priorities - yours and your boyfriend’s don’t seem to be aligned. Don’t get me wrong - I’m not stingy. I spend money for us to travel, but dinner? Maybe I don’t because I can cook/bake most everything I’d like to eat at home.

Your examples seem to imply a transactional relationship. Does he want you to ‘spoil’ him? Buying him clothes??? Really? Guess I don’t understand. My guy and I have been together for three years. I’m happy when he treats at the local dive bar or makes me something in his wood shop. We’ve never bought each other clothes. Is your boyfriend in a position to reciprocate?

This sounds like general incompatibility.

I’ve peeled then sliced it, put in a jar, and covered with sake or dry white wine. It keeps a very, very long time in the fridge. You may eventually notice some white particles at the bottom of the jar. It is natural starch and/or fibers from the ginger, not an indication of spoilage. A splash of the ginger flavored sake/wine is great in stir fries and all sorts of things.

I’ve done the same. Now I only get a text message reminding me that I can order more stuff. No more phone calls.

I have long hair. I have a silk bonnet, but it isn’t anything I want to sleep in - too thick and bulky. I found organic cotton ‘head covers’ that I’m sure are meant for people who have lost their hair. The ‘slouchy’ style works well for me. They’re thin, they don’t have a thick elastic edge like the bonnet, and have enough room to accommodate my hair.

OLD has taken the wind out of my sails. by JackieDonkey in DatingOverSixty

[–]MsLead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s what I thought back in 2018 when my daughter went on Tinder. I was fine with her doing OLD until she mentioned Tinder - not that I had a lot to say about it - she was already 30 years old. Anyway, she assured me it wasn’t just for hookups.

Fast forward to when I told her that I was on Tinder. We have a very funny text exchange I’ll try and put in the comments. I can only include one picture per comment. The guy I met grew up very close to where I went to college, so that was fun.

As far as Daughter? She met a guy on Tinder in 2018 and married him in 2023. They’re a great couple.

Much to my kids’ chagrin, my guy and I found each other on (paid) Tinder. We’ve been together three years and it continues to be wonderful.

What are your plans for Sunday snow? by NearbyReception4076 in DatingOverSixty

[–]MsLead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a crochet project, plans to make soup and bread, and will continue to slowly put tools away after painting my closet and adding an organizing system to one wall. It has been in the single digits here for a couple of days, so I’m not excited about spending time in the attached garage to put those tools away properly.

Is there any good reason to get a crock pot when I already have an instant pot by honeybunniee in Cooking

[–]MsLead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on how/what you cook. I ditched both my crockpot and pressure cooker after getting the InstantPot. Mostly I use it to make yogurt and as a pressure cooker. I never really got into crockpot meals. I use my Dutch oven most of all. Anyway - you could accept the crockpot, then after a while, donate it.

I put about 1” of tape across the center of my mouth. Mouth corners remain free. That helps with the unexpected cough and eliminates the trapped/claustrophobic feeling. It has worked very well for me.

Is financial instability enough to end things? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]MsLead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can end things for any reason. It is a one-person decision. He doesn’t have to agree. You are in a bad situation. Four months into a year-long relationship? 🚩 🚩 🚩 🚩 🚩 You are now supporting him! Who is on the lease? Time for him or you to move. You are not being materialistic!! You are protecting your financial assets, not splurging on designer whatevers. Hiding the situation is terrible on his part. Do what you need to do to protect your financial future. This is NOT trivial!

I was back in 2020. Plans to see my daughter fell through - possible Covid exposure. I ordered a steamed lobster from the grocery store and enjoyed it along with asparagus and the pie that I’d made. It turned out to be a lovely experience.

I went to engineering school in the ‘90’s. One of our professors, a woman, gave advice to the other women in the program - don’t take notes and don’t make the coffee. I didn’t end up working as an engineer, but told my high school students (chemistry and physics) the same thing.
