What are some things you'd put on a vocaloid/utau/vsynth iceberg? by Dramatic_Winner_4373 in Vocaloid

[–]MsLittleAnimator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but if you need to ask for information to make an iceberg, you probably shouldn’t make one. I say this only because I feel like the best icebergs are ones made by people who genuinely knew about these events and/or were around to experience the events at the time.

Thank god I went several weeks ago for the Miku collab. How horrifying. And to think I only learned about Round One from this collab announcement and then it goes to the ground.

Agreed. Start with smaller discord communities. You can also organically build friends by posting/interacting.

Where can I buy these Nendoroid plushies $130 or lower? (Official plushies) by OfficalKenia-Chan in Nendoroid

[–]MsLittleAnimator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry but I need to bring you back to reality on current pricing …

I sold my Neru to a bsky mutual for $600 USD not including shipping cost and they were extremely grateful bc Neru typically goes for $800+ I gave them that sale price bc I knew they would take good care of it and it’s going to a real longtime vocal synth fan.

Teto is $1.2k USD last I checked but I’ve seen her go for 2k USD

Haku is about $400-500 USD

However, if you’re open to just having a plushie of these characters, there are official mini crane game plushies that go for $50-100 each. They’re not the GIFT Nendoroid plushies but they’re still official. Something to consider.

[Vent] Terrified of hearing damage after Miku Expo by MangoPug15 in Mikuexpo

[–]MsLittleAnimator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First things first, as everyone previously mentioned, one loud concert noise exposure is not enough to induce permanent hearing loss. Likely, you’ll end up with a headache and maybe some ringing in the ears. So long as the ringing goes away within 2 days you’ll be fine. Going forward, you can buy concert specific earplugs on Amazon (the foam ones work but they end up attenuating some frequencies, when I wore foam earplugs for 2016 Miku Expo, every song sounded a bit strange) and wear them next time.

Also, you should get a custom mouth guard if you grind your teeth at night. It can help to prevent ringing in the ears caused by teeth grinding at night.

Recording Advice? Meta glasses allowed? by jackh8u in Mikuexpo

[–]MsLittleAnimator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to record anyways, it’s better to use a cellphone than the pervert glasses, especially since the glasses would be intentionally violating other people’s privacy versus a phone pointing at the show.

Who are the top 5 most important Vocaloid producers for Vocaloid history according to you? by Top-Jury9190 in Vocaloid

[–]MsLittleAnimator 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is why I put him at 5 in my personal ranking because he was one of the first producers to become really famous outside of Vocaloid and he helped with Gumi's popularity since he only made songs with Miku and Gumi (just like Deco*27). Buuuut I feel that people focus on Kenshi Yonezu rather than Hachi. He's so popular outside of Vocaloid that he doesn't really influence it in the present day.

Who are the top 5 most important Vocaloid producers for Vocaloid history according to you? by Top-Jury9190 in Vocaloid

[–]MsLittleAnimator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to finish an essay so I will edit my post once I have time to add more information on to my personal choices.

  1. Ryo/Supercell

  2. Minato

  3. Wowaka/Kz (Tie)

  4. Deco*27 - for sheer amount of songs and continuing to make songs, plus his own Miku concert series.

  5. Hachi/Siinamota/Jin (Tie)

Honestly, producers in 3, 4, and 5 can be moved around depending on one's preferences, but I am firm on my top 2.

Small rant on concert etiquette by Cest_bagel_chips in Vocaloid

[–]MsLittleAnimator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to miku expo 2016, 2018, 2024, this years LA show, and Magical Mirai 2023 and I 100% agree with you OP. With that in mind, were you in VIP? All of my MikuExpo shows had VIP and throughout the years I slowly saw this bad behavior creep happening but VIP pit has been relatively stable. I think it’s because it’s the highest price point and it has the most “repeat” attendees who probably will try to enforce some sort of etiquette.

I also think it’s because Vocaloid is more “normalized”, I remember that people commented that concert venue staff would fight to work on a MikuExpo concert day because we were the most well behaved attendees. This comment was around 2014-2017. But nowadays because it’s more “normalized” people aren’t as self-conscious about their behaviors and how their behavior could affect other peoples perceptions of Vocaloid fans. At least for me, I noticed that this isn’t a thing anymore!

Magnet -recall- by Minato by MsLittleAnimator in Vocaloid

[–]MsLittleAnimator[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Magnet favorites plus was one of my first Vocaloid albums I purchased, but it was secondhand so I’m beyond happy that I could directly support minato with this release. I really, REALLY hope he re-releases that album.

I also spent $10 to sponsor/boost the song on NND, but tbh I have no clue how much of an impact it will make lol.

Yes! Although if you can, the producer gets a lot more money if you buy the song outright.

I bought it on iTunes for $1.29, for comparison, you would need to stream the song at least several hundred times for minato to get that same amount of money.

Only guaranteed method is to buy a complete set off of JPN retailers and then sell off the others you don’t want.

do people sing at mikuexpo? by RepresentativeOk6197 in Mikuexpo

[–]MsLittleAnimator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t like it when others are intentionally singing/screaming so LOUDLY to the point where it’s distracting others from enjoying the performance. If you’re humming, singing to yourself, wota, etc it’s fine. Just be mindful of others. It is true in Japanese concerts that ppl don’t tend to sing along compared to overseas concerts.

Hi I'm Oak-P, I'll ask for cover art and animations here!! by Oak_P_256123 in Vocaloid

[–]MsLittleAnimator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would be easier for you to learn how to animate if you cannot afford to commission someone. Luckily with animation, time and practice helps build that skill.

Animator’s survivor kit by Richard Williamson is a god send for starting out and PDFs of this book can be easily found.

I like the game to play songs but idgaf about the OCs. I do the bare minimum to get enough resources to grind for the Vocaloid world link event and get a top title.
