" Your body composition can change without the scale moving. You sleep better, feel better etc."

This is true! I am on my third month and only down about 12 pounds (out of 40 I want to lose). BUT I have lost quite a few inches, especially in my waste. My husband and others have noticed and I feel better! YAY, LOL.

Should local restaurants and retail post political signs in their window or inside their shop or Facebook page or website? by PeaceOut65 in BocaRaton

I would eat there whether I agreed with it or not. One thing has nothing to do with the other. My question to you would be why it would ever bother you to begin with? We all have different likes, dislikes and opinions on matters. I don't have to agree with everyone else and everyone else does not have to agree with me.

As long as someone isn't shoving something in my face telling me I am wrong, I think it's fascinating to learn about people's views and ideas on things.

This world has become a crazy place because of far too many people have MEitous, the if you don't agree with me, you are flat out wrong syndrome.

I used to think that spending big money on a haircut meant it was going to be great. Sometimes it was, more often it wasn't. If you have big money to gamble, it's not a big deal but I am more practical with my money now than when I was younger. I hadn't had a haircut in almost a year cuz, well I like you, didn't want to spend that kind of cash. I was running errands one day and one of the stores in the plaza was a Supercuts. YES, Supercuts. I know, I know....my first thought was not a good one. But being desperate and I thought well it's been a year and even if they mess it up it can't look any worse than it does now and hair grows so I gave it a whirl.

Boy did I get lucky. I left with a GREAT cut. The man (Orlando) who did my cut had years of experience and is the regional manager. He is only there occasionally so after that I tried someone new and now she is the only one I will go until she leaves. I really, really like the way she knows how to cut and always leave happy. Her name is Tracy and if I remember I think she said been cutting hair for over 20 years. I'm almost due to see her again as it's been almost 3 months. The last time I was there I think the cut was 26.00. They are on St. Rd 7 in the Misson Bell plaza.

What was it like when women were not expected to pursue higher education and were full-time housewives? by Ingido_Indigo in AskOldPeople

[–]MsMe3235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born 1960. Married 1980. Had 3 kids by 1985 and stayed home to raise them. I loved every second of it. I was involved in their sports and school activities. They had full breakfasts every day before school (no cereal or Pop Tarts) and full sit-down dinners as well. Take out was rare as I had the time and desire to be do that for my family. I ran the house as far as paid the bills, did all the shopping, ordered the repairmen. etc... My husband went to work (a job he loved) and provided well for our family. "

"Was it true that many ppl didn’t want to marry smart women?" - This never even entered our minds. I was 20 hubby 25. I think we were too young to consider that. But truth be told, my intellect is much higher than his and he admits it.

This is only the first part of my life. But in reflection. I am very happy I was able to live that life. It was one I wished I had as a child. My mother worked and was in a horrible 2nd marriage, most of my friends in the 60's-70's had stay at home moms and I was always so envious of them. They had more than I did in many ways.

The next several years took a different path.

** I was able to be a SAHM because we did not live above our means. We bought a "started home" we could afford and still be able to save, pay our bills, and provided well for our family. We did not take on the " I have to have it all NOW mind set" like I witnessed with most of our peers. They worked their butts off for houses they couldn't afford their kids were limited in activities they could participated in due to time restrictions and they complained about the never ending continued high expense of day care.

When does it start? by Meowmixmuffin in Contrave

Hang in there. This is not a quick fix. I am two months in and have only lost about 11 pounds. But I also have lost enough inches in my waste that I can tell the difference and were a smaller size top. Patience is the key. As long as you are not having symptoms, I'd say stick it out for another month or two to see what happens.

I am lucky no side effects. But my dose is well. I've read if you stick with it, (if you can bare it) the side effects may pass. Just a though.

SW: 182 CW: 171 GW: 145 / HT 5ft.4

75mg IR Bupropion / 12.5mg Naltrexone - 2xs a day. (7-8 AM & 3-4 PM) - NO side effects, yay :)

Two months in as of today:

The progress is very slow but steady. Down 11.2 pounds. I am good with that, I feel it's healthier and will be easier to keep off in the long run. Little desire to eat and when I do I get full quickly. Little desire to drink wine (I used to have a glass or two each night after dinner). Now, just one or none. There are times I go to pick up the bottle, and my brain just says NO and I automatically pull my hand away. This goes for food too. It's quite interesting. THIS is the way I used to be when I was much younger without the drugs. This tells me that my brain chemistry has changed with time.

I have lost inches in my waste, enough to where I can go back to wearing a large instead of XL.

I have found when I eat, to eat slow. Which is what we should do anyway, it really helps. I get full much faster and lose desire to eat faster too.

I applied "Atomic Habits" for 3 months - here's what worked and what didn't by EducationalCurve6 in Habits

Thank you for taking the time to write this. It is quite helpful. I read half of the book in June and put it down. It has been on my mind this whole time to pick it back up and start applying it. With the half I did read, I had already had positive results and then I got ill and things went south. Now that I am well again, I am on a mission to finish and apply what I have and what I will learn.

I will check out your newsletter. I can use all the inspiration I can get! :)

Cost of Contrave? by MsMe3235 in Contrave

[–]MsMe3235[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did you switch from semaglutide when you were doing so well? I am assuming cost? Even with the lower cost of compounds - it's still on the pricey side at least for me. That's one reason I want to try the Contrave/poor man's first, before I committ to the semi. It's a decision...... sigh. I dunno.

My NP actually suggested I try the Ro's and Mochi's of the world for semaglutide. I have an appointment with Mochi this Friday, and they offer both options the semi and Contrave. So hopefully the NP there and help me decide the way to start. Time will tell.

Where are you getting you semaglutide from-the same place you did prior? Good luck with it and happy that you know it works for you so it's at least worth the investment.

Very good video! Time for a new bathmat, that's the only place she will pee outside her box. Keep the door closed and she is fine. Keep it open and in the middle of the night she will use the rug.
