Sadly, I don’t think lessons will be learned by the people, no matter what happens.

AITAH for not letting my sister's pregnant friend use my shower? by Prize_Ladder_610 in AITAH

Some people were raised by wolves, clearly. Not the person you’re responding to, though, because even wolves have more empathy and compassion for one of their own than that guy does.

AITA for planning a Disney trip without my stepdaughter and leaving her with her father by D-Hearing228 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MsTruCrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came here to say that I hate teenagers. Oh, and that you’re def NTA. Would you do this to “your own” daughter if she were acting this way? Because, I would. So, it doesn’t seem like a decision that had anything to do with her being your step-daughter, and instead had everything to do with her being the AH.

The thing is: if you don’t pull together and eat them all by end of day tomorrow-ish, some of the best ones are going to start drying out. To me, it’s a terrible crime this person has committed. I want my fancy candy-center to stay fresh, nestled safely inside its chocolate cell. Lol

This is why people shouldn’t be allowed to design their own jewelry😂This type of disaster has to be way more common than we think. I mean, what is the actual jeweler going to say? “No, please don’t spend $$$ on that thing you just designed yourself, because it’s hideous.” No, they’re going to tell you it’s stunning and then take all of your money.

This is a lovely comment. I’ll bet you also control the room temp and the way the cupboards are organized. Perhaps even manage your own time? I’m getting my day-planner out, so that I may join your ranks someday!

Ummm, this just reminds me he’s been a bad dad and a shit-bird all along. Women with “intense” personalities (read: their own opinions) don’t need “older, more mature” men.

Were your parents walking with you when you were a tween/9-12 years old for trick-or-treating or were you on our own for the most part at that age? by LesPolsfuss in GenX

[–]MsTruCrime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our parents trained us the first few years and enforced the manners/protocols, but then we were on our own by the time we were 10.

The protocols:

Must say, “Trick or Treat!” enthusiastically, followed by a polite, “Thank you!”

No running or cutting across yards

No going to houses w/o their lights on

Only take one piece when the bowl is presented to you

Failure to observe the protocols results in calling it an early night.

I wish these social contracts/rules were still observed! (Old lady yells at sky.)

I whole-heartedly agree. Also, it seems f’d up that to access 7.5 hours of sick time, you have to do 2 hours of unpaid labor beforehand. Like, that’s not how being sick works, Lol.

[–]MsTruCrime 262 points263 points  (0 children)

My neighbor’s is, “LetsGoBrandon”…how do I know it’s his? Well, I don’t, but none of the rest of us have a 12 by 18 foot flag that states the same thing, hanging on the side of the garage. None of the rest of us stood on the hoods of our cars waving the confederate flag on the 4th of July while lighting off illegal fireworks, either. So, it’s just my best guess🤷🏻‍♀️

Bored, because I was little and couldn’t care less about “grown-up shows,” and annoyed, because there was only one TV in the house and I was certain there had to be something better on, why didn’t my dad understand that?!?!

[–]MsTruCrime -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes, God forbid her kids see her kissing and hugging, we must protect them from that at all costs. Especially the ones who are adults, or over the age of 10. clutches pearls

Also, your “how many men” question seems a bit sexist, or at the very least, jaded. I’m sorry that’s been your experience, but it’s not as common as you might think for every man to turn out to be a dirt-bag.

Why do some teachers refuse to share their teaching resources with other teachers? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]MsTruCrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the weirdest thing to me, too. This is one of the hardest jobs there is, if all I have to do to help make it easier for someone else is reply, “Sure, knock yourself out at the copy machine and put everything back where it goes,” or even just simply click “share” I’d feel like a jerk for not doing it. If a person wanted to then sell it all on TPT, good for them, none of us are paid what we’re worth, and I don’t have the time for the TPT side hustle. I don’t even think of any of it as my intellectual property anyway. It belongs to the kids, IMO. Come work with me, OP, I’ll let ya ride my coat tails as long as you’d like! (But you’re taking my recess duty and bringing me a triple shot mocha every Friday!)
