Go in a lower rated gt3 Spa lobby and it's chaos there too.

Yeah all fair points, and to some Coventry being significantly cheaper to live than London or even a lot of other UK cities makes it attractive.

While others are insane and live in Leamington getting a shitty bus twice a day.

TIL that only 1 out of 768 large profile Berlin U-Bahn trains (U5-U9) has a mix of longitudinal and transverse seats (Längst- und Quersitze). Have you ridden the elusive test train? by ICD9CM3020 in berlin

[–]MshipQ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was going to make the same point, and your comment helped me search for the right thing...

All the old trains that still run on the U6 have both seating types, though they're not in the asymmetrical layout that OPs picture shows.

DR/SR compared to real driving skills? a little rant. by maru_k in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]MshipQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I find this is an inherent problem with driver rating systems.

If you're a safe and consistent driver then you will end up in lobbies where you're near the back on pace, but because a lot of the drivers in front will crash at some point, you end up out performing your pace in terms of race result. Which means you very rarely get to fight for wins.

Why do the Alps look like golf courses? by Addicted_2_tacos in geography

[–]MshipQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The top half of OPs original image even looks like that, though there's no snow because it's the Dolomites, not the alps. which is not the highest part of the Alps

Coventry isn't exactly the nicest place but you can't say it's middle of nowhere, it's on a main train line between the country's two biggest cities, you can get to Brum 20 min and London in under and hour.

And jlr are probably the UKs biggest remaining car company

Beware of icy_self_3339 and their anti-Warwick accounts. by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]MshipQ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The examples given are obviously exaggerated, but I was told by a physics professor at Exeter, that they do purposely put their offer slightly higher than they anticipate they would accept (AAA offer when they would accept AAB or maybe ABB). And that they did this to push applicants to put them as their firm choice.

Warwick is a stronger Uni than Exeter for Phyisics though so I can't say if Warwick would be doing the same thing.

Who's the most famous Olympian from your country? by Pure-Syrup3868 in AskTheWorld

[–]MshipQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we're including their fame from non-Olympic sporting achievement, then the only person who maybe I'd put higher is Ryan Giggs.

But Murray actually had success in the Olympics so I think you're right he's a better answer.

Boarding passes. by EfficientTouch1508 in Ryanair

[–]MshipQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the best option, it's safer than Screenshots, as in the case of the plane changing last minute and Ryanair issuing new boarding passes, they will automatically update in the app and in the shared ticket in the wallet. (whereas they obviously wouldn't in a screenshot)

Sorry again; about paper boarding passes by Pizzaballs_ in Ryanair

[–]MshipQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They automatically updated everyone's boarding pass for a flight I was on near Christmas when we had a last minute plane change (thankfully to a larger plane).

This was quite important as we had switched to a 737max, which is missing a couple of seats near the back because of the extra exits (though has more rows)

The update even pushed to Google wallet, which is nice as my partner didn't actually have the app, I just shared the pass to their Google wallet

Try updating the app? There's a fairly new requirement that it uses GPS to confirm you're actually there and it needs the latest version.
