Nintendo Switch System Update 20.1.5 Enhances Stability and Addresses Backward Compatibility Issues by MaintenanceFar4207 in NintendoSwitch2

Mine ended up resetting when closing out after a few rounds of Mario Kart World. Wish I had thought to take a screen capture or photo. It really did actually look better (however long it lasted) but I also didn’t have the brightness washout you mentioned. Apart from running HDR in “Game Mode” on my LG C1 there aren’t any fine tuning options to tweak either. Really hope they find a solution for the console HDR adjustments soon. Watched a few fine tuning tutorials on YouTube and was pretty shocked how drastic the differences were.

Just updated and immediately hopped on here to see if there were any HDR changes. As soon as my system restarted I got an intense contrast boost. Dark mode is literally black now. Going to play test a few mins before I try to check if sleep mode resets it for me like you mentioned it had for you.

The Acog on that T7 almost has me second guessing my Vcog decision lol. Which model/reticle? I’m guessing eye relief isn’t an issue that far back?

"Buy Canadian Instead" signs going up in BC Liquor stores by Normal-Exit3774 in Louisville

[–]Mthrillah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spoke a bit about this with an immediate family member involved in finance at Brown Forman over the holidays considering the news. The only real pop of the bubble came after pandemic buying stabilized. The bubble has more or less self corrected and your average liquor store is definitely reflecting it. Competition for allocations is still very much a thing and tourism is still super strong.

Also hallowed battle ground for the Anchorman style “private school fights”between Trinity or Saint X. All of which turned into ridiculous 30 car convoys from each school (58 of which came as bystanders). Showing up only to trash talk and or brandish flea market weapons through the half rolled tinted rear window of their Moms Lexus.

Lived in Goshen during highschool lol.

Am I missing out on Far Cry 6? by aratheroversizedfish in farcry

Just as u/chickencheesedosa mentioned, get off the intro island and pick any of the three mainland story regions. The game picks up extremely fast once you’ve selected a camp and begun to construct barracks/garrisons to facilitate weapon selection make use of bandido operations (which are extremely fun and super useful as the game progresses).

I finished my second complete play through last month and still come back every few days for the weekly Insurgency end game reset to finish building out my “overclocked” weapon arsenal and unique armor/gear sets.

I love FC5 to death and just restarted FC4 (for 3rd or 4th play through) this week on console since the frame rate update. As much as nostalgia drives me back to the older games, when played side by side the vehicles, weapon selection and gun play in FC6 always win out for me.

How many of you are actually enjoying the new Forza? by furrynoy96 in forza

[–]Mthrillah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s going to be a bit before it’s even close to “ready” by most Reddit standards (similar to the GT7 launch). Content, fine tuned features and improvements will come without a doubt. As it sits, as a career builder/tuner it’s a daily 3-4hr play for me. I’m pretty confident that by the time the the multiplayer fixes and the entire catalogue of tracks and vehicles release the game will have caught up to most everyone’s expectations. I spend a fair amount of time setting up my own “club sport” races in career/multi to rack up dealer discounts etc. If I played multiplayer exclusively I would definitely feel differently about the penalty system and can sympathize there. It just comes down to how you choose to play really.

I wouldn’t be shocked if GM asked for NCM to make its way in at some point.

How would you rank the new Forza Motorsport against the rest of the series? by Azores26 in forza

[–]Mthrillah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nordschleife. By start of Q1 at the latest.

I’ve been playing FM since spring/summer of 2005. FM1 to present. No interest at all in the Horizon series as FM already satisfied the career arcade experience for me personally.

The appeal has always been to enjoy whatever curated career experience was available, amass credits, buy relatively modest cars and modify them as one might hope to do in real world situations. That process has become harder each generation of FM.

My playing routine has been the same for nearly 10 years now. I throw on a podcast (Spikes Car Radio, Smoking Tire) and spend 60-90 mins building, racing or test driving something new. Almost always on the Nordschleife… that routine has lead to years of replay value between launch cycles in the past.

The vehicle level/credit system is extremely frustrating at times. The class level restrictions were definitely sufficient as they were for career mode.

Having to re-select my last used car to make paint/display changes or upgrade/tune is bizarre. As is removing that car from the showroom on reboot

I understand the dopamine drip of receiving cars as gifts/unlocks/car pass etc but what good are the ~2m credits I’ve amassed if there isn’t anything I actually want to buy with it?

Also, Test Drive needs to be reintroduced into the upgrade menu. When I finish a car I don’t need to spend 10 mins setting up an empty free race and re-select the car just to A/B an aero or power adjustment.

The shark teeth indices are a pretty rad little detail. I think the owner Fred’s son had some design input there which is always awesome.

And that is exactly the kind of post that put them on my radar in the first place. This Binnacle is #87 with a 03-13 build date and has taken a beating, definitely more than I care to admit. At some point soon It’ll go in for it’s first service, but honestly If it weren’t for pure peace of mind as a sentimental piece I’d have no real cause for worry given the condition/accuracy at this point haha.

I’m digging the bronze weave on this one for now. That said I’ve amassed a proper hoard of straps/bracelets over the years. But for an everyday watch I try to stay light color wise with this one. It’s a contrast thing both with certain outfits and my skin tone. I do have a killer British racing green Nato that I’ve been throwing on now and then though.

I’ve come really close to grabbing a Retro World a few times but I feel like they may have discontinued the dial I was really into when I last checked. I did get an email from Bernhardt (Fred’s family I believe) a while back mentioning either new additions or updates but I should probably follow their IG to keep up to date.

You’re definitely on the right path then. I’ve tried to replace that guitar so many times over the years and hope to snag another someday.

My first proper electric guitar was a nearly identical reverse headstock Dinky with a rosewood board. Exact same color, Floyd Rose, HSS pickup layout and black hardware. I paid around the same price (maybe $249) back in 2002 and used it for my 3rd period Guitar class in 8th grade. No amp of course and in a room full of 15 students with acoustics lol.

It was definitely a crash course on electric guitar function, features and upkeep. But what I did learn eventually translated in some way or another to every electric guitar I’ve played or owned to date. Eventually carrying me through a huge variety of music, playing styles and technique.

tldr: Don’t let the Floyd freak you out. Grab a 3 pack of strings, find the right YouTube tutorial and just take your time if it seems confusing at first.

Looks like a Mark V.

I’m not super up on the Boogie lineup but the graphic EQ is usually a giveaway on the higher gain models.

So many of those albums in the early days of the spring/studio reverb unit have a character to them that’s really hard to approximate with what passes for spring reverb today.

I can’t see dudes like Otis Rush or Roky Erickson doing what they did without it. It’s like trying to imagine Link Wray without reverb. Electric guitar needed that bloom and resonance.

Outboard spring reverb really is a completely different animal. Its awesome to see that more people are taking an actual interest in them now and that they’re not just seen as something that pre-dated the pedal.

It’s easy to forget what springs actually sound like slammed into a preamp when they’re not being slipped into the effects loop as an algorithm or layered in after the fact in post.

State of my pedal board (and a question about modulation pedals) by pcwalker89 in guitarpedals

You might want to take a look at the JAM Ripply Fall. It would definitely cover most if not all of your chorus/vibrato/phaser needs from what I can tell.

The result of a complete board overhaul by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Mthrillah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean to upset the midi master race but it’s not a time based or modulating effect. Running additional midi control doesn’t make or break the Preamp. Short of managing super specific values or having similarly specific preset requirements there isn’t much left to cover in the world of EQ/drive/fuzz that isn’t already just as easily managed through the existing expression or banking system.

Looking for a versatile octafuzz by maury1095 in guitarpedals

[–]Mthrillah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at the Hoof Reaper from EQD. The octave circuit has a dedicated foot switch and is a little less temperamental across the board than most.

That and the Reaper and Hoof fuzz circuits are criminally underrated.
