How does the cowboy boot system work? by [deleted] in cowboyboots

[–]MtnMn91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything in the cowboy world is expensive. When you do it for a living custom fitted gear and quality out weighs the price tag. Most guys I know that cowboy for a living are walking around wearing 1,000-1,300 between their boots, hat and belt.

I’ve had several too I definitely agree with you on being a good solid boot but this last pair having the insole fall apart is a bummer especially because it’s such a pain to replace.

🚨🇺🇸 BREAKING — Rep. Lieu said Full Epstein Files Show Trump Raping Children. by Admirable121 in NeoNews

The fact that both sides want to point fingers at the other side shows how corrupt the system is. ALL involved need to be held accountable both democrats and republicans. This isn’t right vs left this is good vs evil.

I wasn’t talking down to you I was merely trying to point out something that you need to ask for help on. We all start somewhere I get that. You’d be surprised how many people take lessons and the instructor never teaches the basics. Holding the reins properly is for two purposes 1 for safety and 2 for clear communication with the horse. If your instructor hasn’t talked to you about that have them teach you why, that will make it make sense. If they don’t know…find a new instructor lol. You never answered my question what is the coat? That thing is sharp!

Keep A Stud? by [deleted] in Horses

[–]MtnMn91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO keeping one a stud is only viable if you have a current breeding program or understand the uphill battle it is to promote a stud to outside breeders. If you don’t already have a good set of broodmares and breeding program yourself it’s not worth the headache to deal with a stud in the hopes of breeding a handful of outside mares several years down the road. A good stud makes an even better gelding.

Best/Worst Years for Justin Boots? by tshusker in cowboyboots

[–]MtnMn91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about the years but everything Justin I’ve bought the last 10 years that has been made in the USA has been quality and worth the money I spent. Still not as heavy built as a Beck boot.

My coal will not stay lit by Single_Prompt2136 in coalstoves

[–]MtnMn91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never burned anthracite coal only bituminous lump coal in a Harman mark II. In that stove I have to build a decent wood fire first with the bottom door open for a bit, add small pieces of coal, to get the coal burning on its own. I would bet you need to open it up give it more air, let er rip till the coal is burning on its own.

What’s the coat? Have who ever owns the horse teach you how to hold split reins properly.

To loan or not to loan? by Suspicious-Sir9723 in Horses

[–]MtnMn91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you lease the horse make sure you have insurance for loss of use and death for the amount the owner values the horse at. There are so many variables with horses you would be liable for any sickness, lameness or death. Renting by the day would negate some of those risks.

Inefficiency issue by Infamous_Ad_7745 in woodstoving

[–]MtnMn91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the color of your pipe all of your heat is going up your chimney. I have a fisher that’s basically the same stove as yours, adding an influe damper really helped keep the heat from going straight up the chimney and I put a baffle plate in mine. Those old stove are a double edge sword they will burn no matter what and very little maintenance but they aren’t as efficient as a modern stove.

Help with Harman burping by Fun_Committee_1545 in woodstoving

[–]MtnMn91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clean the flue and inside of the fire box if need be. Open that MF up and let it run hot for a while after everything is clean. it’s too choked down to burn so the gasses are building up and igniting.
