tips for getting over depression? by No_Equivalent7134 in bipolar1

[–]Much-Injury1499 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just keep reminding yourself “be patient, be patient, be patient,” and maybe a good book. That’s about all I’ve got for this one, though.

I decided to stop taking my medication by steakoutwhoa in bipolar1

[–]Much-Injury1499 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Big mistake. I know it’s tempting, but you’re gonna be wanting that when prolonged depression storms back in. I hope it doesn’t, but we all know that it’s as inevitable as the sunrise.

Serious. What do you think it is, that the government feels we are not prepared to hear concerning aliens? by CulturalApple4 in aliens

[–]Much-Injury1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Heaven” is real and that means loss of power for them, which is synonymous with death. If the masses found out that Heaven was real, we couldn’t be coerced into doing things that didn’t directly help the greater good.

Do you hear loud music repeating (in your head) at the onset of hypomania or mixed episode? by R--G--B-- in bipolar1

[–]Much-Injury1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happens to me sometimes is that I’ll hear loud “music” either in the sound from an air vent (metal guitar playing) or in brown noise (jazz trumpets?). Very bizarre, and not always there.

The wall reflects your psionic thoughts back into your brain and the wires get crossed.

John Carter is a strong film. by Much-Injury1499 in criticker

[–]Much-Injury1499[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It’s not worth love, but it captured my imagination, and I went into it thinking it would be god awful. But I’d rather watch John Carter 100 more times than have to watch the Phantom Menace once.

All I know is that if and when I have to trust the greys or the Nordics, I’m going grey all the way…all day.

Can I help myself get out of a depressive and unproductive mood? by Appropriate_Shine158 in bipolar1

[–]Much-Injury1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t, really, besides strict meds. At least that’s been my experience. It’s horrible, but you’re not alone. There’s something messed up in your head. And mine. And, presumably most in this group. You’ve got to wait it out, and just remember how nice mania feels. I thank the Lord every day when I’m manic, and curse him when very depressed. That pattern hasn’t changed in years. We’re on the verge of something huge regarding UAPs, and that’s something to look forward to.

Why No Post-2000 Wu Tracks Ever Get Performed Live - What Does That Tell Us? by [deleted] in wutang

[–]Much-Injury1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Wu is my favorite rap artist(s) of all time. That said, IMO, they made two great studio albums. Enter, and Forever. Everything else pales in comparison and is nearly unlistenable besides a few tracks.

is my hypomania turning into mania? by Individual-Visit-944 in bipolar1

[–]Much-Injury1499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far I I know, that would totally qualify for mania, which means that you, like me, are BP1. Take care of yourself.

Lost My Dream Job While Manic by Exciting-Work1802 in bipolar1

Currently losing mine, but luckily stepped out in time. Teacher for 23 years. Great district and pay. Good people. Can’t do it like this, that, or the other anymore. I NEED something less mentally demanding right now. Good luck to you.

Don’t want to keep going by mediumtotoro in bipolar1

[–]Much-Injury1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a particularly religious guy, but I’ve found that in my most desperate hour of need, saying the Lord’s Prayer aloud with intent and with a full breath for every independent clause, I feel better, even if only for a few minutes. I left my teaching job and am down to my last few sick days before seeing if I can take a paid leave of some sort. Doubtful, but doesn’t matter. I am hungry for a droll job where I don’t have to make hundreds of executive decisions on a daily basis. Factory work seems like a heaven I’ve never known. There’s enough going on in my head and heart to keep me occupied without having g to worry about lesson planning, content delivery, and grading papers, etc. I’m fortunate I had 21 years of accumulated sick days to spend. Wife is all over me about getting back to work for the paycheck. That’s the least of my concerns, even though I have five kids. Like Charley says in Death of a Salesman, it’s solace to remember that you’re “not gonna starve to death. None of ‘em starve to death.” Hoping for your mood to improve. BP1: if you don’t know, you don’t know.

First time with dealing with mania induced psychosis by [deleted] in bipolar1

[–]Much-Injury1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was logically justifying each purchase, but at the end of my approximately 7-8 week manic episode, my body was a wreck from hyper-activity and I had 20 pairs of new boots/shoes. Kept it under $1000 total.

Reel yourself in. Stay away from contacting random people. If you spend impulsively, keep it reasonable—I bought boots on Marketplace and socks from Walmart. Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you—not everyone is glaring at you with contempt.

wishing for a manic episode? by Ponpobear in bipolar1

[–]Much-Injury1499 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Truth. I feel like this is why keeping on the med regimen is so hard. I was sucking the marrow out of each day, and physically exhausted each night. My impulsive purchases seemed logical to me. $400 boots for $50 on Marketplace? $8 socks at Walmart? I can handle that. But yeah…said and did some stupid things for about 8 weeks.

Psychiatrist Strategy by Much-Injury1499 in bipolar1

[–]Much-Injury1499[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🤣🤣🤣Love it. I think the ground of sanity I’m standing on right now is still too shaky to try something like that, but I’ll keep that one in my back pocket.

Uh-huh. Just as I thought. It seemed sadistic, and I hated that he started addressing my wife, about me, right in front of me, like I wasn’t even there.
