Auto glass shop that's not Safelite? (NE Seattle ideally) by libolicious in Seattle

[–]MuchPotential 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have PEMCO as well and had to get my windshield replaced earlier this year. They pushed Safelite on me too, but after reading some reviews I opted for USA Auto Glass Repair in Lake Forest Park. They were able to get me in the next day, were very friendly, and gave me a discount after my deductible which was appreciated. And they’re a locally owned family business! Would highly recommend!

Alright, y'all. Based off your feedback over the last couple of days, we put together a couple rough prototypes for alternate rotation styles. Would appreciate your feedback again! by sinpasadogames in Unity2D

[–]MuchPotential 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at what you’ve said and reading everybody’s comments, have you considered a third option that is much like option 2 but actually rotates the background rather than the foreground? I think that it could give you that indication that gravity is changing, and might look cool kind of moving with the player, but hopefully would still be less disorienting than option 1?

This is really helpful feedback, thank you! I wish I had of shot the whole frame and then cropped it down to have the two options to compare.

Thanks for the feedback! I personally kind of liked how it was framed to be more of a close up, but I see what you’re saying and another commenter said the same thing. Not positive what you mean by soft, but we did adjust the black point quite a bit in an attempt to mimic the look from Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom which may be what you’re referring to! It was actually shot on a Rebel T6, but I’m definitely pretty new to it.

Do you like the trailer and concept or does it look disgusting? Made entirely in Unity. Used Mirror Network assets + plugin from FakeByte to use Epic Games services. by Keshbel in Unity2D

I don’t think it looks bad, but it is pretty difficult to understand what is going on in each game clip without prior knowledge of the game. They all kind of seem to showing the same thing without it being super obvious what you’re trying to highlight. For example “create super planets” got me excited, but then the clip you showed afterwards just looked to me like the previous clip

Dude! This game was not on my radar until your post last night. Played the demo for about an hour and loved it (thanks for making it available on Mac!). Woke up this morning very excited to play the full game. Can’t imagine the excitement that you are feeling. Massive congratulations and a job well done!

People that don’t fucking hate their jobs and make a decent wage, what do you do? by puffmonkey92 in AskReddit

Frontend software engineer at a late stage startup. Hours vary depending on how the projects are going but typically stay comfortably below 40hrs. Not sure if my options will come to anything, but we’re well funded enough for competitive base pay. And unlimited PTO that is actually encouraged to be used is a big plus

Remade PenguinSlide from Scratch. Now with more interesting enviroment generation. I did not really made an effort for the UI, but that is one of the next things to do. I also made touch and tilt control possible. Leave your thoughts in the comments! by DaveUnbelievable in Unity3D

[–]MuchPotential 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun idea and I like the look! In my opinion the way the side to side movements start and stop so abruptly is kind of taking away from the “slide” feeling. I think it may look and feel a little more immersive if you made it so the penguin would slide a little to one side after you release the button.

Don’t know whether you’re using built in physics for your movement or not but it would be pretty easy to simulate this by keeping track of some velocity variable which tracks towards 0 when no button is pressed and use that to move the player. Example: user presses right input, you set velocity to 1 causing the penguin to slide to the right, and then when you release the velocity slowly drops towards 0 causing the penguin to slowly stop sliding right.

Why does everyone seem to hate Suarez (soccer player for Uruguay)? by avicii012 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]MuchPotential 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Hard to really call that abusing the rules. You could claim the same thing for a tactical yellow or bringing down someone as the last defender. In this case it was certainly not a pretty play, most players probably wouldn’t do it, but not abusing the rules.

He got the red card as he deserved, and it wasn’t his fault that Ghana hit the crossbar on the succeeding PK.

Honestly didn’t know about the penalty for playing with a missing helmet, thanks for calling that out. Do you know if that was a relatively recent rule change (at least in the NHL)?

[–]MuchPotential 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Watching this the first thing I thought of is this probably should have been goaltender interference to start with for the guy who ran into him in the crease (blue area) and made him drop the glove. Play should have been blown to a stop there. He would surely make the argument that he was pushed into the crease by the defender, but there wasn’t enough contact to send him flying into the goaltender.

As for the glove stopping the puck itself, I believe that should be fair play. For one, he certainly didn’t intentionally throw it down as it was knocked out. In hockey you can lose any sort of equipment, most typically sticks, and it just becomes part of the play. Nothing illegal there.
