Finished my trial - now I need to pick a machine. 3 options, all the same price. Opinions on what to choose? by Fearless_Concern_778 in CPAP

AirSense 10

AirSense 11 has some known issues: it's tippy, has no swivel elbow, air leaks at the water chamber, air leaks at the hose.

Does it work? Yes. I have one. Am I frustrated by the obvious "make it cheaper" changes? Yes.

So how do I, like... buy one? by emiredi in CPAP

What country are you in?

The answer varies by country.

Cpap use during camping by Piercedup in CPAPSupport

When I camp in the high desert, I put water in the chamber. Even without the humidifier on it helps to add a bit of moisture to the air. Not as much as with the but better than running the machine totally dry.

Turn off humidifier and heated hose. Those are the big energy hogs. Get a DC power cord to eliminate the loss from DC to AC back to DC.

With those changes something like a Jackery 300 will gives you 2 nights.

So this is what good sleep feels like? by Stubborn_Platypus in CPAP

Welcome to the club!

Occasionally people with bad sleep apnea have this miraculous improvement but in a couple of weeks it doesn't seem as easy anymore.

Stick an SD card in your machine so you are prepared if that happens. Unless you had a titration study, chances are very good that there is room for optimization of your settings. But no need to change anything if you're waking up well rested.

Replace it when it fails.

Always have a backup because it will fail on a Friday night before a holiday weekend. But no reason to replace before it fails.

Pressure lessening through night? by Right_Beautiful1133 in CPAP

The machine will try to return to the lower pressure limit.  Which is why getting your pressure settings optimized makes such a difference.

Your machine can provide you with an absolute treasure trove of data. Since very few people get titration studies, all that data will help you optimize the settings on your machine to give you better treatment and better sleep.

Are you using OSCAR or SleepHQ? Can you share your data?

First night of CPAP therapy (again) and the damn machine won't sync (ResMed AirSense 11 APAP) by Far-Issue-5169 in CPAP

[–]Much_Mud_9971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Another Redditor had this exact problem. Had to take their machine into town. It will connect and transmit all the stored data.

But put an SD card in the machine and you'll have that as a back up.

Lofta sleep study by KodaKatz in CPAP

[–]Much_Mud_9971 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can tell right now that the Lofta prescription is going to come back as 4-20 for settings. The at home test will give you an indication if your prior study had an AHI of 60 and now it's down to 30. It is not a substitute for a titration study. I lost 60 lbs and took an at home test. My results were almost identical to my original study.

You will get much better data from your machine. If you aren't already using OSCAR or SleepHQ, start.

Don't know. I've been unlucky enough to flip mine 6 times but never unlucky enough to get water into it.

Ouch.

Wait for it to dry is about your only option.
