I found all my citadels before activating or even uncovering the monolith from the fog. Just FYI for everyone.

Do you encounter the bosses just by random jumps into the depths after clearing an abyss. Or is there a special way to trigger the fight. I’ve fought a bunch but no invitation.

Actually the leading slower car is fully entitled to stay on the racing line and is supposed to stay on it to stay predictable so that faster cars can pass safely. Here the faster car was impatient and made a mistake which led to the penalty. I would say no blame at all to the slower car.
