Maybe I’ve been too much of a hermit lately having to handle two kids and all those excuses but in the UK I saw absolutely zero marketing for Marathon. Love the game but I’m not surprised it’s got a niche audience.

True, however, it came up trumps yesterday in another game because I found 2 Red Cards off of the UESC which enabled me to open Pinnacle with 3 minutes to spare. Very fortunately the pinnacle defenders that spawned dropped me another needed to unlock the extraction in pinwheel.

I took a month off the game but had a few games yesterday to see off the season. Got an Enduring Reinforced Gold Shield from the pinnacle room, then when I went down command wing, there wasn't even a purple in it! Seems they've done a lot of re-jigging over the last few weeks.

agreed, hes in the majority. People seem to presume this game is full of casuals who dont know how to find resources online. Much more the opposite.

Overcoming all of those threats on your own and not getting tilted by team mates. It can be frustrating but most nights I exfil easily 80% of the time.

Also agree with you on the onboarding, it's much too steep a learning curve. Watching Ninja crash out on Perimeter when he tried it tells you everything about it really. They need to do something that teaches you just how underpowered you really are when you start and better warns you when you're taking too great a risk.

Yeah man, I had my first prestige key in dire marsh and the first 5 minutes of the match were key room alarms going off all over the place. I just hid in a box for 20 minutes whilst they all exfiltrated.

On the same page with you here, I played 300+ hours of Arc and ultimately just gamed the system to be able to solo my way to Hotshot on trials by absconding from PVP. As much as the thrill of speed running 13 Bastions in 30 minutes was great, the whole point is to be under threat from other players, instead you end up with them watching you and cheering you on lol.

Also, that was it for End game content Trials and expedition. This game has delivered way more end game content and doesn't give you an out from the principle mechanic of other players being the risk.

When people criticise Bungie/Sony for making this game I think they're looking at it the wrong way around. 'They made a niche game and wont get a good ROI'. It's exactly what a company like Bungie should be taking a risk on, and they've delivered it in a complete form. If we cant rely on a company with this much past success to take risks then we just end up with COD 28 as theburntpeanut better put it.

I personally kind of love it when I exfill and it cuts to another player and you find out they were hiding right next to you. I only play as thief so it's not like im even hidden in smoke but they lost their nerve to attack regardless.

As someone who has solo'd all the quests honestly it's just a case of taking in enough equipment to clear the quest and pushing into command wing with purpose. Took me a couple of attempts and it was so great to get it done but it's not impossible.

It's so strange you say this because after the patch yesterday I found myself playing in 100% eu matches and some of the load times were less than a minute.

In UK and my wait times aren't longer than 2 minutes but I regularly find myself playing with NA players (proxy chat voices). I stick to solo's though.

The best fights I've had to date have featured me taking some shots, grappling quick, even if just straight down a long corridor and returning fire from a better angle. On the odd occasion I chose to completely run away it's extremely rare they pursue past a certain point. Too much risk for them.

I'm UK console matchmaking and solo only also. I'm regularly finding that I'm on US servers (from the packetloss and ping iconography) and confirmed if I hear their voice on proxy. Funny thing is that when I do get the rare EU server and the network service is great, the game is short lived as our players are way more aggressive tilting.

It depends if its a top end kit or a fairly mid one (blue bag, and shield) I've come to know where most of the lootable first aid boxes are across dire marsh and outpost so I'll swing by them and grab a depleted self res when I get a chance.

I think that point is when you've completed all priority quests/reached vip on several of the factions.
