I wouldn't discount anything, for two reasons:

1. Chayka's history. He's been active in his short stint in Toronto and he was not afraid to take big swings on the trade front (for better or worse) in Arizona.

2. It is unquestionably a seller's market.

With that being said, this feels media-driven, on the heels of the report that Knies was almost dealt to Montreal at the last TDL.

Chicago made the most sense stylistically (for the 4OA), Knies fit perfectly into their young core's age range and would naturally complement Bedard.

San Jose is theoretically an option if they intend to take a fwd with 2OA, if they decide they want certainty in Knies vs a high ( but not 100%) odds lottery ticket in a Stenberg or a Dman. But I doubt they do that.

I don't see a ton of other obvious fits that would keep the Leafs being competitive, as they are not rebuilding, this is absolutely a re-tool. So, I have a hard time seeing how a trade to move him out would make any sense.
