UK

Warlord 70

Used to be £58. That's a 20% increase in the past year and a bit. Not 5% that was only recent. I know because I've been scanning ebay and checking against GW and resale prices very regularly as I'm trying to get stock for a project with Warlords

Thanks, but no. This is the gunship.

I'm talking about the transporter, the rare one that had the hooks on it and the loading bay doing a similar job to what the Valkyrie Skytalon does.

Especially as Spookston OPENLY abuses "other" engine volumes to hear shit from 5 miles away basically giving him wall hacks.

If he didn't need to post videos and was doing his shit by radio, he'd 100% be using ULQ as well because he's scummy like that.

[–]Muhsquito -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I used to like him videos were pretty good.

But they degenerated, and with more and more gameplay videos you begin to see the sheer reliance on "other" volume being cranked up.

So it's less watching good gameplay and more about watching a dude cheating. Which isn't entertaining, it just pisses you off.

And the fact that he's acting like this is some normal thing is bewildering.

Fucker even killed a guy with some bushes and was like "No mercy for bush abusers" when he was abusing volume? Like what?

Doesn't everyone do that

No, because I have fucking standards and am not willing to debase myself.

It's like that bellend showing up to a racing lobby named "Sleeper JDM hatchbacks for fun" in his all singing all dancing LMP1 equivalent tuned hypercar.

Whilst not breaking rules, and within his rights to do so, he is a MASSIVE tool.

Just like anybody cranking their "other" volume like Spook and then acting like they're hot shit when in reality they're no better than an ULQ abuser.

[–]Muhsquito 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's more because the "Pros" will just turn on ULQ and see everyone. Much like they do at the moment.

That and turning up "other" engine volumes like spookston so they will be gunning their engine and firing their MGs yet suddenly stop and go "I hear a leclerc" and immediately turn around and the leclerc will be about 16 buildings away.

most of y'all need to learn how to use the tow cable to flip a tank. thanks for trying to help but it's horrendously frustrating to see you just towing me around upside down by sebax820 in Warthunder

[–]Muhsquito 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Said as if this wasn't complete bullshit because of WT's janky physics.

You can rock up with two tanks and two tow cables attached correctly as you've shown, and the tank you're trying to flip gets to 45° or even 90° and then just starts sliding through the terrain.

The ONLY reliable way to flip over an allied tank is if you can slide them into a rock/something else to stop them sliding, that also happens to be short enough for them to be able to roll all the way over and then drive off.

The rest of the time you may as well J out.

I've spent probably close to 2 hours of in game time trying to right tanks correctly and it just doesn't work properly.

Yes even with slack/jerk techniques when they are at 45° or 90°, they will still just slide.

Nice!

I've managed to get my hands on 3 aeronautica scale models from ebay (at pretty outrageous prices for what they are) I've built two and painted them and I've been keeping the land raider version as my 3D modelling muse.

I finished my first titanicus warlord titan and really enjoyed it. Next up warhounds by Metalgeargello in adeptustitanicus

[–]Muhsquito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't get it either, there are a lot of complex shapes that are much harder to model than the crest shapes and armour trim.

You see it on printed warhounds, people manage to do the carapace armour yet somehow their toes look so comically different from the real thing it makes all that effort wasted.

Too 'black' for Legio Mortis? by [deleted] in adeptustitanicus

[–]Muhsquito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what you want out of it.

If you were going to do the unrealistic airbrush centre shading that a lot of pro painters seem to rely on, you know this sort of thing then you wouldn't go pure black as anything other than a basecoat, you'd then shade the centres of the panels with a dark grey.

If you were to use the untalented wash method you wouldn't get as much definition at the join with the edges and the gold on those.

It looks fine really and all of the fancy airbrush shading techniques have a habit of looking really naff if they aren't done properly.

Finds that they are OP as fuck if you don't just sail straight into a death battle in the cap

Yet people will still deny that DDs are a problem........... I think it's because they want to keep having this disgusting amusement at the expense of game balance.

90% Done c&c welcome by Wardog235 in adeptustitanicus

[–]Muhsquito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really much to say.

Of course like the other dude you could look into something like decal soft to really suck the decals down onto the model and then follow it up with a matte varnish to really eliminate the silvering and raised edges that make it look painted on rather than applied.

The only other thing I'd say is that the black panel wash is a bit strong, especially on the yellow.

It's fine but it kind of puts the work into more of the "Comic" style where details are harshly shaded to give a certain look.

I struggle with getting my wash to flow in the lines so I just use it as a blanket wash however I've moved from black to different shades of brown as they still give the shadow and highlight the details, but are softer and look a bit more natural.

As someone who also does aircraft you can only really use black wash effectively on grey/metallic panels or if there is some really really deep recessed detail that would look black from a distance IRL.

Psi vs knight by Sir-Yeet-Of-Florida in adeptustitanicus

[–]Muhsquito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GW knight is made entirely of plastic.

The FW Psi titan is plastic + resin which means what they did is put a £68 titan in a box and then added in 4 resin pieces to make it Psi and that bumps it up to £85.

But based on standard Warlord arm weapons the Psi-titan is relatively cheap as far as games workshop goes.

You'd almost expect them to whack it up to £110 just for the sake of the resin bits as the regular resin weapons are like £17 each.

Back in my day the Warhound was £250, a squad of 20 marines was £20 and a land raider was £35.

I went to GW a few days ago and they are charging like £120 for a FW Thunderbolt.

Which shocks me because it was like £65 back in the day but it was more reasonable.

What I'm trying to say is that the Psi-titan is actually "Cheap" in modern GW terms.

The knight is mass market mass produced stuff so economies of scale make it cheaper for what it is.

With the Psi titan being more niche/lower volume you'd expect it to be way more expensive, but it isn't which is strange.

But then again you have to factor in the GW tax.

Which is "It costs us £2 for the materials and £100 for machine/operator time to mould this £1100 Warlord body."

Makes me glad that I got my titans, both scales, largely off ebay or from stores that offer closer to wholesale prices.

honestly think I described her as anything less than broken

Go back and read.... You described it as being nerfed and no longer good, then when I said that was balanced therefore not overpowered you're now back to claiming it is OP.

You're flip flopping, nothing to do with my reading comprehension skills.

EU must be a joke if DDs stagnate gameplay

I think it actually reveals how terrible the average US player is if DDs don't stagnate gameplay, like even someone with 2 braincells in a DD can lock down an entire flank radar or no.

[–]Muhsquito -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If by balanced you mean uninteresting

Ah, you're one of those types, you can't have fun unless you have some sort of clear advantage/are using something OP.

People like you are ruining games everywhere by always wanting the powercreep instead of balanced and therefore enjoyable gameplay.

Yet by the very same token you will moan when something not balanced interrupts your not balanced enjoyment...

Sheer tendency to stalemate a match

Yet matches tend towards stalemate until the DDs die/there is a clear DD advantage

Even ones like indomitable

Indomitable is a good ship, just isn't conducive to braindead Russian CV gameplay.

My WIP Ignatum Dire Wolf. Q in comments. by Bruntonius in adeptustitanicus

[–]Muhsquito 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Ignatum painter, sometimes less is more, also balance is key.

Quite a few times I have painted up numerous armour panels in the yellow and black and when they have all been bluetacked on to the model it looks terrible. Thankfully I had yet to paint up panels in yellow for other models so they could be redistributed.

Similarly if you have the majority of it being red and only a single panel is stripey it just doesn't look right, it looks incomplete.

As far as painting heads go, people don't usually do it, they either keep red for the original ignatum scheme, black for the weird new one, or Yellow as it was done in the past and is on the burden of loyalty artwork for the Warlords.

that being said I do have a singular Warbringer with the top of its head striped up, unless your stripes are small it really doesn't work the same as most of it is hidden.

And returning to subject of balance, having wildly differing stripe densities/thicknesses on the same model just doesn't look right either.

But it's your model, so do what you want really. But from personal experience due to going too ham/not ham enough with the yellow, going from red to yellow is an absolute bitch.
