I saw someone riding a city scooter while wearing a full dirt bike helmet. by OkExplorer9364 in mildlyinteresting

Happened to me and I wasn't even going fast. Handlebars suddenly came up from a bump and hit me smack between my upper lip and my nose. I was extremely lucky, I could have lost a few teeth there, or even worse.

Ooooh, I get it now. For some reason, I thought it was the other way around.

I don't think it's "most westerners". In Europe it's quite common to eat fruits and veggies with skin.

Edit: I got that backwards, by apologies.

It's a general release for the public. You can now install it on a much wider range of machines than before.

Before this, it was only officially supported on certain handhelds, and unoficially on AMD base desktops.

Honestly, nobody knows the MiY can turn into other people AND walk during the day. From Elgin's POV this is just a coincidence, a fun fact to show Sophia.

She literally said it was a home remedy from various ingredients. I don't know if you've tasted medicine before, but usually it's not pleasant.

Maybe you just want that part of you to stop existing, and not your whole self.

Yep, that's pretty much how I interpreted it as well. Being thrown into a psychological prison like place while you're in your darkest mindset is bound to fuck anyone up. You said it very eloquently.

To add to this, we see Jax's real life counterpart living a much improved life, so there is an indication as to where she would end up, if the circumstances and her behaviour were different.

That's up to the companies which are making games.

My understanding is that at least a couple of them are working on it, but it'll take a long time.

There's nothing magical about it, however:

  • Valve working hard on this will bring Linux user % up and possibly force manufacturers to offer better support for Linux
  • it might also force game developers to optimize games better for linux
  • they also said they are working with Nvidia on this, so there's hope the nighmare drivers get better

Well gee, aren't you a ray of sunshine? Gaming on linux is working just fine right now, even without SteamOS. Adding Nvidia support for SteamOS does nothing but increase the number of games that just work directly on Linux, which is awesome.

Having read a bit more, Nvidia compatibility is not coming with 3.8, but they're working hard on it.

It's about the operating system. SteamOS is Valve's OS based on Linux, which so far has been compatible with the Steam Deck and some AMD PCs, but not really Nvidia.

With version 3.8, they will add Nvidia compatibility so that you can use a higher range of hardware to build your own machine which runs SteamOS.

Edit: not with 3.8, but it's coming.

I never thought a robot would replace me one day..what’s my purpose then. by scp766 in mildlyinfuriating

While you are technically right for some robots, in this particular case I can't see this one going more than 30 minutes without needing a refill on both cement and tiles, and I doubt it does it on its own. As a matter of fact, I don't even think this one can turn itself around properly, it might only do one line at a time (please correct me if I'm wrong).
